    Fuel prices fall

Shell reduced its petrol and diesel prices by 3c a litre at 10am today, and was soon followed by BP.

    The cut made 91 octane 139.9c a litre, 95 octane 144.9 and diesel 95.9.

About sodding time. Prices have gone from like $70 a barrel to $55 a barrel over Christmas.

Watch them go up next week because the dollars slipped 3%

And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

It's about time they dropped the price! Currency has been getting stronger and crude oil has been dropping. Guess they've now dropped it because most people have come back from Christmas holidays. I'm sure it'll go back up in two weeks time when the schools start up because kids are too fat/lazy to walk.

Anyway, I'm sure it'll have gone up by the time my bike needs fuel. Last tanked in November and have burnt ~2 litre so far. Will be a few more months before the next top up.
90% of the time spent writing this post was spent thinking of something witty to say. It may have been wasted.

I think the reason its dropping is because the states have had quite a mild winter and have'nt need as much to burn on there oil fired heating systems. So demand has been low.

I've not even had to fill mine up yet, but I'm sure I'll be weeping when I do, mind you, it can't use that much more gas than the last one can it?

just saw countdown has 10c off a litre for every $70 you spend, so that'd bring the price down to $1.29 for 91

Plus those fuel discount savings things have ramped up to save 10c per litre now.

Not that my bike uses much petrol anyway

12c a litre at Upper Hutt Pak N'Save, and it has its own petrol station on site too.

We swiped the Shop N'Go thingie just before Xmas and it gave us a 20c savings coupon.

It's happening already - Druzhba pipeline has been shut - Opec will tighten the taps in February - prices are going up as we speak - from $55 to $57.

Personally I prefer the price being highish because the Kr doesn't cost much anyway and I can laugh at my mates that seem to think bikes are crap and their $500 nana cars are so cool cause they have a cheap paint job and mags worth 3 times as much as the car itself.
Also means less traffic as people are tryin to save on gas.
