Talking My week away with the twins

over this last week i have spent many, many miles behind a trio of twins.

it all started withthe meeting of a buell rider from the north in a little town called Taupo, from there i escortered her via the windy roads to wanganui to home.
that was the start of some of the best touring that i had done in many a year.

we then went to meet up with the the guzzi and buell rider from the south, the 2 buell rider were on their way to the hog rally up in "dorkland" as the guzzi rider was finaly band from saying.

after an "interesting" ride via the back roads of the wiarapa (sp? )
where a truckie finaly earned his pay.... missed all the riders and the car of the supid fuckin lady, who thought that parking her car in the middle of the road was a great place to stop and let little johnny have a crap..... the truckie had NO-WHERE to go... put his trailer in the ditch and didn't hit anything or anyone... how?

the next day we headed for taupo, via hastings...and as the guzzi had the detector, we all voted him to lead ( ok.. i have to say that he was the best rider there... just, the buell babes were a close second)

he took us at a pace that we all liked, somtimes the turbo struggled to keep up... but most times i could see them...in the distance..

the next day we heaed up to tauranga, and as i had been thru Pyes Pa a couple of times... i thought it best i lead... some how they managed to keep up
were we meet up with some of the locals who showed us the way to Whangamata... thanks to BB2...
we did find a strange scot'sman... who rode very differently to the rest of us.. even AFTER a word from the guzzi man...
but somehow we managed to stay rubber side down... but the new aprillia riding chick .... wow. she can ride(must be all the time she spent on a duc)

we got to the pub and had a beer, then we thought " i wonder where we are booked into?"..... yep right next door!!! so another beer was drunk..or 2.

the next day we finished the "coro loop" the guzzi rider leading.. it was a little damp and we had a whole 3 corners of rain!!! and we men saw 3 cars off the road .. and the girls..only saw 2!?!

the buellbabe from the north showed us around some of her stomping ground.. dam nice roads... and then suddenly we were at her place and the girls were heading off to the rally...
there we were 2 grown men twidling thumbs..what to do?

yep we went on the thursday nite ride with boomer..( who i could keep up with IF i wanted to...)and a few others.. so i am shite with names. but a blackbuell showed us what happens when a belt breaks............. yep nothing goes!

unfortunatly i was never comfortble on this ride .. sun in eyes shit rider on the turbo.. all added up to ... well we got tothe clevdon pub with only 3 people not making it... from break downs only...

then yesterday i decided that it was time to start heading home ( to clean the place before the twins head south and want to spend another night here) as luke has been here entertaining women in my absence...

arrived on BabyB's door step ... got a bed mate? and i got feed!
popped into goblin's for morning coffee and to listen in horror at what was getting fixed on her bike for next weekend's races... thanks to sidecar bob, it will be a runner!!!!!

and now home, the place is not too bad actully!!!
and i am still buzzing from the rides and the friends
thanks to the trio for putting up with me and my riding and bullshit stories..

now i have been convinced to get that buell.. a twin can do it with style!

errrr... forgot to thank "jim2" for being 3hrs late at the meeting place...

    what a ride so far!!!!

Noice write up bro. Kudos to you for getting the turbo out there and treating it like a bike, not a collectable (nothing wrong with that mind you cos they are). I think you're right about the Buells too. Proper motorcycles them. Get one and we can swap over for fun some time.

Nice write up, as GG said was nice to meet you and Dangerous and have you come along on the ride, got to be a first going on a ride and the leader has to pull out. Sorry didn't make it to the pub, would love to have had a good chat with you all, but having all the air in my rear tyre at the top and none at the bottom sucks, in the end had to trailer it home,

    cheers John
Why would you ride that long and that gnarly stuff if you don't have to, Its what we do, we love it.
