New bike - well new to me anyway!

    Hi guys

Just got a new (old) 1990 Yamaha SRX250. Goes well, 30k on the clock and a stunning black colour! Anyone know any information about these as my attempts to find info have been relatively fruitless!

Can I ask what communtering is? Is it engrish for commutering? If so then it can be yours for $2k, twice what I paid for it!

Haha, was actually just kidding about the $2k....$3k and maybe we can talk turkey!

It goes pretty nice, all I need to do is sort out the weird feeling throttle grip! Seems to have a small bit of play in it...

Yeah I did actually pay $1k for it, checked with cops to make sure not stolen, and also checked no money owing on it.

The guy had learners license and found it too powerful! Classic!

Will be in touch if i think about selling.

On a different matter, the bike is fitted with Bridgestone Battlax BT45 - are these tyres any good?

    as for the tyres

BT-45. The Battlax sport-touring bias ply was designed to offer sport tourers performance without sacrificing mileage. They accomplished this through the use of Bridgestone's "Dual Tread Construction" with silica compound (found only on rear tire). The BT-45 features a larger crown radius for smoother transitions as well as an improved sidewall design to help absorb shock and offer neutral handling.

seem to be alrightish tyres. mid market i would think. kept seeing the word long lasting, durable and high quality

I have BT45's on my GSXR, certainly not the latest in super sticky technology but round and black....
Seriously, they are a bit hard and I feel they need a bit of warming up however i have not had any problems with them, the back will slide sometimes but it is quite controlable and re-engages smoothly, ie. no sudden let go and hook up / high siding tendencies.

    Short version, they're fine.

Well done on the new wheels mate. It's inline twin aye?

You should be able to adjust the throttle play with the wee turny thing where the cable comes out of the throttle housing (on the handlebar).

    Enjoy.

I have just found what you mean and have had a play and seems to be better now.

It is actually an aircooled single with a weird twin carb setup. I assume it is a twin as I can only locate one spark plug however the exhaust is 2 into one so not 100% sure. I have attached pic of what I mean.

i think that you should off load it as soon as possible before it blows up into 18 trillion pieces. that would be a hard jigsaw.
