It's a 4 valve single, two inlet, two exhaust, hence the odd carb setup and dual exhaust headers. I have the monoshock SRX400 currently and have had a dual shock 600. The 400 and 600's are essentially the same as the XT400/600s in terms of engines and carbs, however I'm not sure about the 250.

Ixion is the resident KB SRX250 expert. So PM him or wait until he turns up in the thread.

    Anyhow, nice bike!

Also the BT45's are a pretty good tyre for the type of bike, I've had them on both my SRXs and never had any issues with them.

How unusual. I thought I could only see one cylinder, but it has the twin headers, and double overhead cam.

Thanks for the info, the engine is a very unusual affair with the dual headers but single cylinder. It goes pretty well so will be a good play thing for a while.

They actually utilise an XT250 motor and retuned for a bit more stick.
As per normal singles, keep the oil changes up.

Thanks for that, I had a look at the site but it appears to be for older model bikes. Not much on around 1990. I did see that a Yamaha store in Invercargill was selling some new again, must be making a come back!

You could always get your very own SRX400! There's one on TradeMe at the moment.

    They're a great fun/communter bike.
