It has around 40000km on the clock and needs next to no work on it, except maybe a front tire. I took it for a blat and it runs well.

$1800 a total rip or a good deal???
If you are in Auckland soon I am going to sell my great RG for not much more with new WOF and about 8mnths on the licence. Serviced by Haldane's, new clutch cable, running on full synth, its an awesome bike that can probably outperform the FZR on the sprint. I've used it every day since I have had it and it has been great.

Apart from the advert for my bike, I would really rate RGs as the learner bike steal. Stepping off one onto a 600 the RG was great training. Perfect commuters - 10l = 200k+, capable on the motorway (top speed 180k), very able on long motorway trips although get a bit annoying after a while (what small bike doesn't?)

You'll pick an RG up for around $2k usually.

I would be wary of bikes that 'just' need a few hundred bucks to get onto the road. You see LOADS on trademe like that, and offered sometimes by pretty dodgy geezers. If the deal is that good, a trader would buy it, VIN it, sell it.

Look for a bike that's Vinned you quite often get rude surprises buying unvinned bikes theres always some dark secret behind the sale!! and were are you getting your facts from??
of course you can, its just a mine field of hoops to jump through and paperwork and $$$.
at least go down to the vtnz place and check the rego, ask if you can re vin without any drama, they will say no sorry it needs a crash repair cert first if its been written off by insurance. that can be expensive. forks and frame have to be measured and the margins are small, forks are only aloud to be
