Apparently was a harley so not any of our local KB crew.

Glad he's alive though and hope they find the fucker that hit him. (doubt it though)

Saw it in the paper, not sure what bike it is.

Definately a sports bike, only has a picture from the back but it has full fairings, its blue and has big twin exhausts. might be a suzuki but its too hard to read the brand on the back.

Rider was taken to hospital with moderate shoulder injuries so should be ok

I think the badge on the tail piece indicated Honda but the paper was blurry, maybe a VFR or Blackbird. The rider was a 38 yo from Tauranga and the absconder a 41 yo from Rotorua, who is known to the police, so he wont be loose for long.

Could well be a Firestorm, Saturdays BOP Times page 7. Yes look out for the cagers, the ones on holiday mostly leave their brains at home, the others, well they can see us alright, it's just they don't look.

Looking over pics of the Honda sport bikes I think the bike is a Honda Blackbird, the firestorms don't have pillion grab handle like this one, which is the first clue.

Blackbird. Munted, according to Mrs What? (who drove past as the rider was being loaded into the ambo)
The illegal U-turn was done in a truck.
    Rider has "moderate" shoulder injuries.
Truck driver's name is known to the pleece, but last I heard his whereabouts was not.
