    Ironhead tune up

    Anyone know where i can get a me old ironhead a tune up, everywhere i go they dont want to touch it or show me the door.It has electronic ignition if that helps.Any help would be appreciated. thanks

    ditch the electronic ignition and go back to points a lot simpler

    ditto the standard carb fit a mikuni or an s&s and it should run bloody well

    re the electrics replace the black box with an earlier moving coil type regulator, they are a lot more reliable

    I got bigger jets for my standard carb - took a bit of experimenting but worked great.
    Also fitted a front sprocket that was one tooth bigger, would have liked to have fitted a smaller rear sprocket but couldn't get one at the time, still it did give it longer legs.

    Contact Dave Glover at HDRS down in Mataura for bits & bobs, gives good service.

    Or High Country Motorcycles at Fairlie.
