    Insurance!

    Hmm, being new to this country I haven't yet got to grips with how much something will generally cost to insure.

    I'm 19 and looking into buying an NC30. I was wondering if anyone would have a rough idea how much insurance would be. I'm not sure if you have TP, TPFT and fully comp here?

    I am looking for... sort of mid range cover if that makes sense. I am currently looking for quotes online though I am not sure which company is most highly rated.

    Hope you can help, sorry it's not a very interesting topic lol.

    Dear MM. You may not think it to be an interesting topic but, believe me, it has been done to death on numerous occasions.

    Please use the most excellent site search facility and you will be enlightened.

    No way man, insurance in the uk is based on what you ride / drive, over here it seems you pay a base amount for your insurance and then a little on top for the extra power, i.e.;

    23 Year old guy, with full bike license for 2 years

    ZXR400L4 = $398 Fully Comp for the year
    GSXR1000K1 = $504 Fully Comp for the year

    They're both with 40% no claims... go figure.

    To insure that bike in the UK would cost me a small fortune.

    Definitly get quotes from as many places as you can.

    I'm with AMI on 3rd party cover and I only pay something like $6.50 a month with a $250 excess, which I think is pretty bloody good for an 18 year old male on a restriced licence! I was quoted around $28 a month for full cover, which seems ok as well, may be worth you while looking into them.
