A mixture of anger and nausea comes up in me...

Why do people see the need to hurt/kill the defenceless

Hmm, maybe it was not a good idea for me to read that

I've got some really nice seal skin slippers from Norway.

    They are very soft. Mmmmm.

I eat meat, and wear leather. And if Mr Bastard had humanely slaughtered a seal for its meat or its pelt, I'd have no issue with it.

But he didn't . He killed it simply because he took pleasure in killing something. Not for any purpose or reason at all, just killing for killing's sake. Bastard.

    note this:
A seal had to be put down after a motorbike was used to run it over on a Southland beach.

The seal had been lying sick on a beach near Riverton on Saturday when a local resident saw a motorcyclist approach it before circling back, taking a run up and running over it at speed, the Southland Times reported.
So the seal was already sick? if everyone wants to save the animals, why didn't someone put it in their car and take it to the animal hospital/vet?
