What kind of condition is it in? What year is it? What work has been done or needs doing on it? Has is it been reguarly serviced etc? What colour is it? Some colour's lower sales value...

well it all depends on a heap of variables...has it been raced etc.....

going by the type of bike...most probably not.....

but a zxr 250 if taken care of with cam chains etc will get 120,000 k's and keep going strong same with cbr 250's also as an example...

but yeah all depends on price .,...if you are not sure get a friend who knows more about bikes to come have a good look over it for you or take it to your local bike mechainc and get him to see what he thinks...

    just my input

    cheers: SM

going by that i would say it's been pretty well cared for...

if it was coming from somebody of 15 or 16 years old......no offence mafu don't mean it in a bad way but young guys seem to like to hammer the hell out of the bikes...

like when buying a boy racer car.....better to mod one that some little old lady only took to church on sundays and to get grocerys....than off some 20 year old boy racer who has thrashed the engine

i say go for it depending on price of course....how much is he asking?

there are enough people down your way on here that know lots about bikes, why dont you ask for someone down there to go check it out with you?

I seem to recall the mid-80's VT250 motor having cam chain/tensioner issues. I worked for a Honda m/c dealership and the number of those engines written off due to the cost of repairs was eye-opening. However in saying that otherwise they are good strong motors. Talk to a honda m/c mechanic if you can about specific issues with this model, and get him or someone who knows what they are looking at to check the bike over.

In at those k's if it had any problems they would have been fixed by now. Just get someone who knows bikes to give it a once over just in case theres something glaringingly wrong otherwise should just have normal wear and tear. How much its worth I dont know, try as little as possible $800? you can always go up. Dont forget to check chain ,tyres etc in case they need replacing, deduct cost of replacements if necessary from price. Happy bargaining!

51 or 51,000? Honda V twins with good maintanence last really well. Just listen for rattles. The cam chain issue is a real one but if they've been replaced by someone who knows their stuff they'll have better quailty chains and tensioners than standard.

PM me if you need someone to take a look at it.

Sounds like you don't know what you're looking for buddy.

    VT250f is not a Spada! F = faired.
Spada is completely naked, no fairings at all.
Engines are similar, but not the same.

thnaks for that hxc. faired is way better than the naked in those years. its only in the 90's that the naked looks good. sorry about the mix up with the spada can anyone confirm that is what the F stands for (*not that i dont trust you hxc)

And Spada was only made in 1988 and 1989, so 'the naked' you speak of, is in fact, not a Spada. Perhaps a VTR?

To avoid any confusion, my Spada is in my profile. Not easy to mix up with other bikes.

a beaut of a bike. i was on the honda website and apparently both the nakedish one and fully faired were vt250f, the fully faired one was winged special edition. may just be a bad english translation thogh
