    New Aprilia project bike

Have just picked up mates 2002 RSVR tonight for some Very much needed TLC . Bike hasn't been cleaned since buying it so looks not so pretty . Spent 1-1/2 hrs tonight degreasing it & covering the whole bike is RP7 & 808CRC Silicon . Will be left for a day till I clean off & then start to pull the bike to bits , wheels off all body panels , exhaust sytem , tank , seat ,forks etc to check all bolts & clean motor , Airbox filter then full service Oil filter & oil change , brake fluids , grease wheel bearings & axles . Then will put it all back together . Then will set up the suspension & brake levers etc , When finished will take back to mate & watch as he Freaks out what his bike can & should look like with some time & effort. Will post some after pics when all done . The last Pic shows the Carbon fibre on the rear guard has gone white from using the wrong cleaning products on it but have some Secret stuff that should fix it up & bring it back to Bling again I hope LOL

    DAMN! that things filthy! haha!

If you want, take some piccys as your stripping it down, I wouldnt mind (sure others wouldnt either) seeing some pics of the internals of an RSV. Sexy bikes thats for sure.. even when they are dirty as hell!

Now there's a challenge.......I wonder if some of that "Secret Stuff" would buff out the slight imperfections in the Gixxer tank........

Dude, sorry to break it to you, but that is NOT a project! Nor a challenge! All it needs is a wash .

If you want a project, you can help me rebuild my seized engine =^_^=

Shit Sensei. Make sure he goes to Ape owner reform school before you give it back to him. Unless he's a lanky extra hard bastard, then you can just tell him that whatever he wants is ok by me.

Well tonight was time to get into the beast & start to pull it to bits . Once the back wheel came out the first drama was found . 42 tooth sprocket with 20 teeth missing just after a 5000k South Island trip last week ' Scary' to say the least pics below , oil tank mount broken / water pump leaking / altenator loose / brake mount peddle had one bolt missing other one held in by spring in front of it / Rear brake resesvor had sucked the rubber seal boot down into it blocking the hole so no back brake which i found out last night when taking it home . While there drained & replaced the fluid & all sorted . Belly pan of & then tank up K/N filter out & clean out oil from in side & servise K/N with cleaner kit . Went over all Rad hoses etc as well as allen keys which all needed abit of a turn . Tomorrow new sprocket grease wheel cush drives & wheel then reinstate then move to the front to do wheel / brakes & fluid plus clutch fluid . .

This is a Ally race sprocket which would be changed after each meeting , & shouldn't be be expected to do the mileage that is done on the road with it . Hence the teeth have failed. As with tyres spend the $$$ on your chain & sprockets .

Owned over 50 bikes now & this is by far the easyest bike to ride slow /fast/ or Black line cornering . Sold my Very tricked out K3 GSXR1000 pic below for it & haven't looked back at all . Great bikes the Japs are building now adays but still have things to learn still .
