    Anyone selling a bike?

I'm going to upgrade a little sooner than planned hopefully. The RM is a bit too old and I want a new/er bike to see me through for the next few years. I got the RM to see if I liked bikes again.

So I'd like a 250 two stroke. I like 2's better cause I can maintain them myself. Not as keen on a 4, but open to what you got. I liked the RM, but I'd like to get a CR cause I'd like an alloy frame as the steel ones are poo and have the obvious issues like rust....... bike cancer. I think YZ's aren't alloy till the 05's and I have no idea about KX's.

So let me know what you got. I'm keeping an eye on trademe, but I figure getting a bike of one of you lot is more trustworthy (well I hope!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

    Cheers

Any Honda would be good if you were buying a boat and needed an anchor.

    How much you wanna spend?

If you wanna new bike, go get a 2007 RMZ450 for $9400. I love the constant torque, no powerband to wait for, only 4 gears to worry about (itll wheel stand in any of those gears too) and like all 450s it has an alloy frame. Iv never rebuilt a 4-stroke but the old mans gonna show me how, you only need to learn once then you will be sweet, doing valve clearances is easy. Its so torquey that I dont think ill ever need more than 50% throttle on the trails so the engine should last a long time before needing a top end (I ride like a girl though!!!).

hmm, ive been riding CR's for 12 years, never had a breakdown that was through fault of the bike.

maybe you got confused and you meant to say "Any Honda would be good if you were buying a boat and needed an Engine"

I'm kinda tempted by a 4stroke, but is the maintenance just as high as a 2 stroke? I like hondas seperate engine and gearbox oil, but how had is it to check the valves every 10 hours? you need a piston every 50? I'd clock that up pretty quickly...... if is hard to do a piston yourself in a 4? I'm sure I could once I'd been shown how.....

That's a bit harsh , there are some really good ones in Northland & the guy from Canterbury who gave me tips on the KLX seemed pretty cool.

just remember cheese this bike is an "X" model
    http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...ad.php?t=43004

alot less work with the motor side, as it is not in the high state of tune as the "R".
But still heaps of go and would be better for the trail's

You can change the cam rejet it adn it already has an altered exhaust so it will have moer power than the r.

Read the DRD mag in about november I think.
