    Nice going !!!

Now, one bit of advice I can offer, check the power valve cables. Make sure when you turn the ignition on, you hear a whirr, whirr noise. That's the power valves self testing.

They're great bikes, one of the best Yamaha has made to date.

Way hey! Great bike, and one that is actually APPRECIATING. You'll love it!

It still puts a smile on my face when I think about the one I had (sexy black/red)....bloody hell I've just realized how long ago that was and it's reminded me I must start checking for those pesky hairs that only grow outta old peoples ears.......

Also, during this sequence they open and close. By stopping it half way, I think they are fully open, make sure the little fork lines up with the hole by the power valve cover, that way you know they are adjusted correctly... Just make sure the cables aren't too tight, since it labours the power valve motor and can cause premature failure... or slow operation...

Run a good quality 2-stroke oil.
Let it warm up properly before thrashing it...

    Have fun...

yeah i have been warned bout that .. I have a 10 k block (the road almost opposite).. only have to deal with about 100 metres of main road far end & about 500 odd meters this end of state highway .. but the remainder is pretty quiet, hilly a few corners .. I reckon after riding it a couple hundred times I might get the feel for the bike .. but since its been over 20 yrs since i have ridden a bike & never ridden on the road .. planning to attend the march track day to be the nana out the back & learn lines etc & take it pretty quietly ..

guess i better run to read buckbucks thread .. wooo hooooooo getting excited bout all da new stuff arriving (thanks MT) & a bike in da shed ..

I'll even forgive it for being a red one ...
