I thought you did very well and you can only get better with experience. It seems all those practise runs around the front garden paid off eh

Shame about the speedo, that's annoying and another expense to deal with, but a minor thing in the big picture. On the plus side though, the indicators seemed to be working much better

Good on you for keeping yourself focussed on getting onto two wheels and for making a huge effort to learn all you can about staying on them. And what a great team effort eh!

The bike looks good on the road and I bet she's loving being there again

There's many miles ahead for the both of you, and every one of them will be a learning experience.

OK, time to sign up for some rides then
yeah its certainly the furtherest I have travelled on the road riding LOL was working hard to remember to turn the amber ones off this time .. not worried bout the speedo when i can work out exactly how many revs for the diff speed limits it will be all sweet ..

the team effort has blown me away .. there is no way that I can repay the generousity of everyone who has helped in one way or another ... esp to Mike & Julie who have given me the free lease for 12 months .. I have advised that I will be buying the bike .. even before the ride last nite .. I feel really comfy handling this bike & she is fun ..

I have stated in here my personal thanks to everyone who has helped .. you all know who you are .. you guys simply rock ... & you have really helped make all of my dreams come true sooner than expected ...

Al thank you for your support, help in fixing the bike, freindship & putting up with my stupid questions & harrassement for the next ride ..

Jodi, Ant, MT, Mike (non kber) & AJ quite simply without you guys the bike would not be on the road, or would take longer or more expense to get there .. thank you

if i have left anyone out sorry .. but its been a pretty emotional few days & yesterday was certainly the low & high of it all ..

yes I will certainly be attending some rides .. but just need to get that wee confidence built up first .. mind you dragging off the intersections was fun last nite til i got to my rev limit .. lol then i was left in the dust .. & that was totally fine .. still smiling & laughing

Ssssh, don't mention dragging or rev limits - oops, too late

Seriously though, it has been a pleasure being a part of getting you on the road and I have no doubts that you have most definitely got the right attitude and there will be many rides to come

rev limits on what I felt comfy with ... only up to 6000 lol ...

ohh yeah at least horses were in the paddocks (& you was not up close & personal with them) & the dogs just think that everyone loves them .. funny how whizz did not like it when you had the helmet on .. but guess he will get used to it when i start riding bike to horses each day , but yeah they can be overwhelming .. esp if all 7 are there at the same time .. that was only 6

Great to hear you are up and running, and what a great first bike too.

Ride safe and wave to scooters.

well I was not going to post this weekend but its been such a fantastic time that I just had too ...

well following on from yesterdays basic handling course & having a wee nana poodle with U4ea yesterday afternoon, I found a new issue with the old girl.

If you quitely slip through the gears ( with good revs inbetween) get her into top gear on the open road (round 100ks) & a horrible nosie comes from the gear box .. so slow & change down .. funny its only done it with me, not the boys that trash the pants off her .. hmmmmmmmmmmmmm is this the trick to riding her ?? does she like a trashing to keep her happy ..

so tried it caned it through the gears into top & no noise ... hmmmm

anyhow today get myself into a frame of mind to ride her by myself on state highway 57 to meet u4ea & AJ in shannon .. did not put her into top & just cruised up about 90ks, get to shannon & idling she does not sound good at all, another non kber friend on his way home from work took her for a ride .. yeah sounded like gearbox or clutch .. toss up do I take her or go home & get the truck ..(had so geared myself into riding her that far)

waited til AJ arrived & he tried her out .. (of course he thrashed her & no issues) toss up .. decided to carry on riding her up there if worse came to worse at least i was not on my own & had others there ... also he thought that a few Kbers there could give me some good advice on her .. so off we went

so took her a bit quietly for the first part .. watched AJ & U4ea riding off into the distance .. but that was ok I needed to build that confidence & they did wait for me

after we get closer to palmerston & i was starting to get a feel for this riding lark & got more brave about getting more revs outta the girl .. On number 1 line I stayed beside AJ & since i have no speedo sat on about 7,000 revs .. stopped to wait for 86gsxr to arrive AJ suggested to really get the revs going rather than trying to slip her in quietly so tried this on the rest of the trip to manfield ... what an awesome ride that bit was .. I was still smiling as we came into manfield ..

Aj introduced me to Kick from sidecar 27 (south island crew) & gary .. thanks Guys .. pretty much narrowed it down to the clutch basket, so before manfield this weekend we need to have a wee peek at that ..

went to pick the bike up from the pits area, & proceeded to give my first pillion ride LOL well it was a change for him to be behind me rather than the other way round & no stalls no wobbles, & I think he survived the experience, not that he would be keen to repeat it ... not sure if thats cause:
    1) being pillion is not as much fun as riding
    2) or the experience was so traumatic
    3) a woman being in charge
    :

so time to ride home ... hmm had a massive headache by this time, to much sun/noise maybe .. ( must remember to pack some nuerofen in my jacket)

just outta feilding had a slight opps moment on a bend .. a bit hot into it & starting fixating on going straight .. got to the outside white line .. thought ohh damn ..look through the curve, look through the curve .. keep on the gas .. whew it worked .. bike got a few medium wobbles but managed to ride through it .. ok time to concentrate on riding forget the headache a few other lessons learnt here but glad bikes is quite like horseriding & focus does work .. more on that later .. other than that an awesome ride home .. a bit quicker than on the way up .. but then I have no speedo, thats my excuse & i will stick to that ...

so in summary .. we watched a great days racing with some absolutely great company what more can a person want on a sunday ...

Hey chicky, great to see you at Manfield today with the posse. Farking outstanding racing. That bike is a sweety and if we could bottle the pleasure she obviously gives you....Oh hang on. We wouldn't need motorcycles then would we? That's a silly idea.
Looking forward to next weekend. Both days, hehehe.

what can I say but IMPRESSIVE!!! For someone who has had little time being in control on a bike I have to say you have grasped it very quickly!!
You have got engine breaking down pat, youre cornering(which little glitches should be ironed out at mansfeild......... )is to be credited, great line, and being aware of ya guages and listning to your engine is all a credit to you!!!It is an absolute pleasure to ride with you .The ride over to mansfeild was a good pace and you kept up (even if we appeared a long way off..i had you in my sights !)The ride home when you took the lead was awesome.....except when you took off at intersections and left me and the boys to dodge the traffic........any one would think youve been riding for years!!!!!!!Passing that bus today was an absolute giggle..I was wondering if you would or not.....well done.....

    Roll on next Sunday.......
