    Just had to laugh!

I was commuting to work this morning (was fine till I left, then the cold fog rolled in - UGGH!!), and ended up in the left lane on Onewa Road, whereas usually I get in the right lane so if I get bored or restless I can blast past all the cars. After a while, there was a gap next to me where some braindead car driver had nodded off, so I moved to the right, and was considering pulling out and passing when this scooter goes NYYEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHH past, just after I'd noticed the cop standing on the side of the road, with his car up someone's driveway. The scooter rider obviously didn't have my fine powers of observation though...
The cop sees the scooter and goes "Oi!! YOU!!!" and points at the scooter, then at the ground by his (the cop's) feet.
    Scooter carries on. Slower.
Cop goes, "OII!! Come 'ere!!", and points at the ground again.
Eventually the scooter U-turns it and goes back.
It was SO funny, as the cop sounded really pissed off, and the actions were just like someone calling their dog when it's been BAD. I was really disappointed the scooterist didn't make a run for it, because the cop looked as though he was ready to throw his clipboard on the ground and throw a wee tantrum.

There was another biker (VTR250) next to me, and he pulled up next to me at the lights at the top of Shelly Beach Road, and said, "Hey! Did you see that? Ever seen a cop do that before?"
"Yup. Exact same thing happened to me a couple of years back, in the same place. Cop pulled me up, told me off, and let me go."
Actually, the cop who pulled me up didn't do the "Oi!! You!! Yes, YOU!! Stand still laddie!!" thing, and was amazingly polite, civil, and helpful (I asked him all sorts of questions about lane-splitting and other shenanigans). Turns out the main beef he had was me not indicating to pull out and pass. I think the scooterist's problem was his scooter hadn't had its distemper shots...
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

    Hah.

That's what you get for filtering shenanigans within a couple hundred metres of the traffic police HQ. Bad karma.

I suppose the cop told him that if he doesn't eat his meat, he can't have any pudding...

It's amazing how infrequently I see cops around the area, except going to/from the HQ. The exception to this is our street, thanx to our busy-body neighbour complaining about traffic, we usually have a car or two sitting on it at least once a week, and sometimes several nights in a row. We also now have a bloody 'pedestrian island' ouside our house, and no parking. Grrrrr...
I guess that's what happens when you have more than one accident a month in your street, courtesy of people who can't drive (including the guy who spun out in his BMW and went backwards into our new garage door last year...)

Seeing he was carrying a clipboard, maybe he actually wanted the scooterist to sign his "We don't need no education" petition?
