It did have gas in it didn't it! Don't they usually empty almost all of it out for shipping?

Welcome to the site, congrats on the new bike, and let's see some pictures eh!

Yeah ... then when she asks you to mow the lawns and the mower runs like shit, you can put it away and say it's broken.

Congrats on the new sporty, Doesn't it feel great !!!! First things first... give her an oil change ( and new chrome filter ) , new air filter, new plugs ( cheap enough ) and check the brake pads and chain......then your set. Before too long I imagine you'll out ride the 883 kitted and be looking to upgrade to a stock 1200 or a Buell.......See my profile....

Way to go and all the best.

Yeah she feels awesum.shes 1200 kitted s&s carb,se pipes (baffels in)
and ignition module(6800 rev limit).should be fast enough for a while.
fun to ride slower than the dr650 .120ks(ish).such a different feeling .
got the new plugs waiting on oil filter brakes n chain good getting new
tyres for her on monday prob replace brake fluid at the same time.

You mean to tell me that you have to mow the lawns? My other half not only has her own bike (1200-kitted 96 Sporty) but she also mows the lawns, shouted me a flash dinner last night, made the bed and is currently doing the washing.

Ride sometime? We're on the North Shore and sometimes 'do the loop'. SH1 to Wellsford, back down SH16 and over through Dairy Flat.

    Enjoy your bike.

pull the baffles out ( let them know your coming and going ), make sure you get a soft to medium compound tire ( dont last as long but grip like shit to a blanket ) sportys dont like hard tyres and wet roads ( not many cruisers do ). Good on ya, good fun bikes to own.
