Me wants a ZRX1200R

Hey everyone it's time for me to get another bike. I'm keen on a nice green ZRX1200R. Does anyone have one they might be thinking about moving on or of any in the bike shops around the country???? Thanks.

Good choice. The Zrex is the best of the big nakeds by a country mile. I had one and clocked up about 36,000km. I still miss it. It's hard to find fault with them -- pillion ride comfort being one, but Rider Seats in Tauranga can no doubt fix that.

The first of the Trademe listings in the previous post is for a ZX12. Different bike, sunshine!

I've still got a stock can for a Zrex in my basement. Free to good home.

Damn, thats a good looking bike! I love that kinda 'retro' look with all the modern mechanics. Probably the only kwak that makes me droll!

Thanks for the feedback so far guys. The ZRX in Dannevirke is an 1100 and the one listed on TMe is a good one but I just don't like it for some reason. Maybe it's the colours or something. I am toying with the idea of getting a new one in from across the ditch. They are having a run out of the 06 model for A$12990. Any body bought a new bike in from Oz before.????????

If you plan on doing a lot of two-up touring make sure your passenger is happy with the accommodations. Because of the upswept exhaust, the passenger pegs on the ZRX are mounted fairly high (like a number of the big nakeds) which can make for a uncomfortable leg bend for the passenger. Also, the pipe is mounted on the same bracket at the passenger peg, which can induce vibration in the peg.

Scooter, a good choice, I bought one of these new in 2003, sold it last year, I regret doing that, anyway before crossing the ditch have a crack at negotiating a run-out deal with your local dealers, I got a serious discount on my Rex that way, same with my present bike. BTW you can get rear foot rest extenders from USA if the pillion is long legged. Good luck.
