    That's a seriously beautiful bike.

Never seen one of the red ones up close. Paint job looks mint.

Bet you're loving every second you get to spend on it.

Just be careful Jimbo's shopping for a new bike.

    Thumbs up

Hey I saw one just like yours at Pukekohe Open Day a few weeks back - took a few pics of it here: http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=4006

Very stunning motorcycle you have there Mr StoneChucker, you need to take it immediately to a sign maker/striper and get the whole thing covered in clear vinyl!!

    Clear Vinyl?

    Hi

What is the clear vinyl for? Preventing stone chips? Can you see it after it's been covered, and any estimates as to the cost?

    Thanks again.

It's also called "paintsheild" - that name descibes exactly what it's used for. I have had it put on my entire head fairing and the front section of my mudguard. The stripers I have spoken with have told me that some guys go the whole hog and get all the fairings and tank covered in the stuff for protection from stone chips, etc. The vinyl is about 1mm thick and dries nice and clear so from a short distance it can't be seen, but the job must be done professionally well or else it stands out too much!

Cost me $100 bucks just for the head fairing & guard, and I would guesstimate the entire bike costing around $500+?

I was half joking when I said to get your whole bike done, but would strongly suggest getting the front covered!

Give these guys a call for further info:

    Two Smoker:

Yeah, I drag me knee round just about every corner, it's hellavafun :P

Ok ok ok, I can't keep a straight face anymore No, I was just practicing a little leaning in. I think it will be a very, very, very! long time before I get a knee down, if I really wanted to that was, seems like an unneccesary risk. I found this pic on the net, which shows what could be done, with skill and big cajunas (spelling?)

yeah mate, I had both my R6's done with it, cost the dealer NZ$60.00 from our local pin stripping dude, did all the front and also the sideof the delta box, cause my foot hits it sometimes when Ia'm tired, also did a bit on the swingarm were my boot rubs, when I sold the 03, just pulled it off(the plastic that is), and it looked like new.

    well worth it.
