    Nup, I'm no mechanical guru, but fair enough, I didn't exactly offer constructive criticism.
    Here's a serious suggestion: get some professional motorcycle tuition. A lot of the tutors will give basic maintenance, pre-start and weekly check instruction. Combine this with the fact you aren't either learning through trial and error or picking up someone elses bad riding habits and it's money well spent. Yes, it may seem expensive but it pays for itself many times over.

    Thinkin about it, I had it happen to me, on a TITAN 500 (read, scary old 500 two stroke, with a universal joint for swingarm mount,) I once owned. Stuck in top, that old girl got me home through the middle of the hutt. And like Murphys law states, every fuckin light I came to went red!

    Some of the early Kawasaki triples (The 3 strokers, Ixion) had a splined shaft on both sides of the casing so that you could choose which side to hang your thingamy whatsit on.
