Can some help me get a bike from Wellington to Kapiti on Friday

    Hi guys,
Just bought a new bike in Wellington. It's a 1987 VTR250F. I was wondering if anyone would be able to either ride it up to Paraparaumu or bring it up in a van/ute. I would pay for a train ticket back to Wellington and some booze/MTA vouchers.
    HElp is much appreciated.

Why don't you buy a train ticket and come in and get it yourself?

So it's a good 'un then? Good stuff Matt - you'll love it. Take your time learn around streets you're familiar with and take it easy.

i've always wanted to try a vtr

edit: hang on, is it a '87 vtr250f (is there a such thing?) or an '87 VT250F (more likely?), I dont mind either way - just curious

It'd be a VT250F, no such thing as a VTR that late back. Congrats on the new bike Matt, always a great time.

Oooh... should I? I really want to . Haven't rode properly in ages with my bike broken... but then again I'm a learner too, and how the hell would I get to Wellington then back to Auckland?

Would be fun, though. A proper uni-hols adventure =^_^=

Mate I say go for it!!! Do it yourself... imagine the buzzz! I bought a new bike recently and had to pick it up from the bike shop, ride it over this bridge in rush hour traffic and start and stop a million times... Beforehand I had only ridden a crappy bike at the bike school for all of an hour on a tennis sized cout. I pooed myself all night thinking about it... but needs must and you'll thank yourself later if you find the balls and ride it yourself.
Have Fun... or don't do it!!!

    VTR250! Nice one.
I could do it during the weekend...? Give me a shout if you can't get anyone to do it for ya, I have never ridden the train. Or a VTR!

Be brave, you can stay off the motorway all the way to Plimmerton, it's not too too scary. I do it every day and I ride a slow-as GN.

I could maybe do it on Sunday morning.

No need for a train ticket as the wife would pick me up on the way. (We need to get to Levin and back that day anyway [in the car]).

Will your insurance cope? (I'm over 25).

    I'd be starting from Tawa.

    Cheers,

Bugger all experience. Nothing legal. Just 45 minutes emergency braking training and I was off riding it from J'Ville to Palmy.

LOL Mate i agree with Hamie just go for it! you'll be glad you did! trust me, highways are nothing.

I could do it Thursday or Friday afternoon, but whether you want to entrust your new bike to a Ginny rider is a totally different story LOL
