Oooh Oooh Oook... and other monkey noises

Had the ZZR in for a service and new chain + sprockets...

Now I oddly seem to have crap loads more power ??? yup, they are the same ratio sprockets.

Trying to catch MrMelon up the Paekak hill today had the front lift in third uphill over a slight bump and stay up for a bit... It may not seem like much to you sportbike guys, but lifting the front on a ZZR uphill in third is pretty funky, it's a big heavy bike and it's not going slow by the time it's in third.

Exactly how much power can a dodgy chain and sprocket sap ? It had tight and slack spots + rusty bits, just too cheap to change it till it absolutely wore out.

On a sad note... Even with more power my bike can no longer get away from MrMelons in the twisties ... Time for a Racetech fork kit me thinks, might stop the thing overcompressing and trying to spit me off... heh heh... excuses, excuses.

Anyone tried the valve adapter thingies to make the forks more like cartidge forks ?

Anyone else with a ZZR1100 that has modified the suspension for better handling could you please PM me or reply to this with your experiences, ta. (I'll get you MrMelon and the horse you rode in on)

Ah well, realistically now, it's never going to beat a sportbike, but if I could just get it to not wallow around quite so much in the corners that would be nice.

I've got the other bike anyway if I ever get serious, just need to uprate the brakes, by uprate I mean fix them so the lever doesn't randomly pull to the bar and not brake

Cheers all for reading my flatulent waffle...

    Sedge.

ps. Was that you Blakamin at the bottom of Paekak hill tonight in the Jukebox mobile ?

94 ZZR1100 IS A GOOD BIKE, AS FAR AS SPORTINESS GOES I THOUGHT IT HANDLED BETTER THAN A 92 BLADE OR 94 ZX9 WITH THE RIGHT TIRES ON IT AND A HEAVY ENOUGH RIDER TO THROW IT AROUND.

I guess it would handle better than them, but only if the blade was actually bolted to the ZX9. Yeah... well... I'll just pretend it's a sportsbike for now... The Metzlers seem to stick OK... maybe I'm just not up to scratching these days eh ?
