Glad to hear you are ok Col.

Keep the stand as long as you need for making repairs.

Bugger Col. Back to being a bum in a box for a while maybe?.

Similar thing happened to me 15 years ago. RG250 vs. Hillman Avenger. I t-boned him right where the drivers door meets the front guard, the bike swung around to slam into the side of the car. RG250 written off, dislocated Navicular (ankle bone) that required shitloads of Morphine & cutting & grinding. Those were the days of sheepskin moccasins - hutt Valley styles bro. You should always learn from your experiences, I learnt that moccasins make for shit motorcycle boots.

I do this too, always have as I understood it to be the law. I get pissed when I approach a roundabout and oncoming traffic turn either way without any indication, the melling roundabout is bad for this.

Shame a lot of people haven't got the hang of it yet - makes roundabouts so dangerous - I've nearly been wiped out 3 times by going stright past a car that all of a sudden was taking the same exit as me without there being enough space!
I also thought you indicate right until you get to your exit, then indicate left.

But if you look at the road code it states

If you are going 'straight' through a roundabout:
don't signal as you come up to the roundabout
signal left before the exit you wish to take.

edit, deleted my bit about roundabout etiquette because it has been said correctly many times before me.
good to hear your ok col.

as a side note did you realise if some one is turning right out of a shopping mall, carpark etc and your turning right into it YOU must give way. How many people follow this rule .... ZERO (its the give way right rule that people only follow when convenient)

Sorry to hear that dude. The main thing is that you are okay.
Best of luck with the ensuing shitfight. It sounds to me like it might be a contributory negligence thing, if so then at least you (or your insurance company) won't get the bill for his car.

    I think you

could be in a bit of grief here Colapop.
I had a similar problem some years back. It was night time and I had been in my small truck following a woman in her car(for f'n ages), we turned into a road that had a pretty steep uphill gradient and travelled half way up it, she pulled right over the centre line, no brake lights or indication, so i figured she was turning right as there was another road entrance there, so i go to pass on the left,(tons of room since she was half over the centre line) and she pulls hard left into a driveway. I smacked into her passengers door, hop out and ask her what she was thinking, and she says sorry i didn't know you were behind me. So it ended up that i (my insurance luckily) had to pay for all the damage. That said it was my fault as i undertook. Yeah whatever!

Hope it works out better for you.

I hope your cop is more reasonable than the one who did me for the same thing far too many years ago.

I am glad to hear you came off relatively unscathed. It's true - bikes can easily be fixed.

You realise this is Colapop you're talking too...? I've heard, courtesy of Classic_Z, about Colapop's hugs, and I doubt the credit card could afford the free lunch...

Not surprised the damage to the car is worse.
Pleased the damage to CP was light. Congrats on the self-control, too CP and kudos to the Cop for the way he handled things at the scene.

You'd be amazed, (okay, probably not!), at how many drivers seem to have no idea that anyone could be actually following them while they are driving! Complete and utter oblivion to any other vehicles as they mindlessly weave along! As one lady, (sorry, ladies!), said, "But I ALWAYS turn here...!"

Shorai Powersports batteries are very trick!
