Bad luck mate, but fucken take responsibility. You tried to undertake a moving car and you hit the car. If it was the other way around you would be cursing the car driver for trying to undertake.

It sucks your bike got a bit busted, glad your ok though. If the cops say your at fault, dont be a cunt. Pay the man, you did after all crash into his car.

Hahaha! No need to be an angry man! I'm not saying he was totally at fault - equal blame I'd say. But his attitude wasn't the best. His first comment was "I'm going to need your insurance company details" not "Are you ok?"

Many car drivers do this..... and it is so frustrating when they do it.....
Same as many pull right over to the left of the roadside and turn right.

The road code actually encourages this, if it is on a busy road where sitting in the middle of the road might be even more dangerous.
However, getting an average (impatient) kiwi driver to do this safely seems to be a challenge.

In the ideal world this is true,

however if you hit someone from behind, no matter how idiotic they are driving, you are in the wrong, based on the premise that when following someone you are suppossed to be able to stop in half the clear distance in front of you.

I also believe this sucks because if the driver in front does something wrong, the sucker behind pays for it...,

and yes I have had to pay (well the insurance company did) for damage caused by an idiot driver in front of me

Difficult to call re. that accident. You did, after all, overtake the cage on the left when he was neither stopped nor indicating to turn right. That arguably trumps a failure to indicate for the full three seconds prior to maneuvering. Best case outcome would be 50/50 responsibility, I'd say.

thats an interesting call. If dickless had stopped in the middle of the road and you'd stopped behind him, odds are you would have got rear ended, and not in a nice way.

Coming from the other direction, I've experienced a couple of near misses as cars swing out over the center line to get a better angle into the driveway. Go figure

Some of them seem to have buggered shoulders, and can't turn properly.

You've seen those dorks who lean all-over their passenger seat while turning left, or nearly fall out the drivers window when turning right?

They make up for this lack of ability to, you know, turn the steering wheel, by swinging wide everywhere.

At least the rider was not too badly hurt in this one.
