Whangarei / Waipu Caves MX Track??

i rode at a track near whangarei in the junior mx nationals in 98, it think it was called waipu caves, the land was owned buy a guy who'se son rode also, i remember it was a huge track, quite open and fast and had a real long uphil straight,

i heard a rumour this track got closed down by a neighbour whinging about noise,

does anyone know what im on about and what the current status of this track is as id love to ride it again.

Pretty sure the rumour is true. As far as I know it's closed.

my mate has a holiday home at waipu cove, ill ask him, he might know.

Neil Boyd owned the track and the track got closed down then he sold the property, Jake his son lost his battle with cancer last year and died, it was a pretty sad day for the motocross community,

it was true about the neihbour and the niose, the sad thing was that Neil had sold him theland originally.

Niel is still involved in MX as a board member of MNZ
