Grass wedges its way between the closest blocks of marble and it brings them down. This power of feeble life which can creep in anywhere is greater than that of the mighty behind their cannons....... - Honore de Balzac

On the subject of muftis , a new accord in grey/silver metalic was doing the business just north of Plimmerton at 10am this morn. Haven't seen him before ? Gaz.
Was that you I passed between MartinBoro and Featherston this morning?
Had a great ride this morning.
BUT, but but but. back to the over-population of Patrol cars. I left home about 7.40am. Great me thinks, no traffic, pubic day off work, Coppers will be sleeping in. So 30seconds on to M/way and I feel so good i decide a wheelie up the next straight is in order to celebrate. Start dropping down the gears as I round the bend..What the hell. marked car ahead lights flashing. Just booked someone. Strewth, well that's probably the only one out of bed. 12 minutes later I pull into Paremata gas station. TWO, ..two I say, marked cars filling up! I was close to walking over and asking why they can't sleep. So as I pull out of the station I looksie at the overbridge as a marked car approaches. Shit, that's four. It's a bloody convention! None of this is exaggeration by the way. About 60-90 seconds later I meet another Plod car coming from Whitby direction.
So lets tally that up. I've covered about 10 kms and come across 5 HP. That's one for every 2 kms!!
As a good citizen (shell shocked into obedience) I was not once over the limit.
8am on the Rimutaka Hill and you guessed it- another marked car. Lucky me it was a tight bend so I was not above the 100, but he flicked his radar on as he saw me fair cranked over.
Still I'm a happy chappie after blowing the cobwebs out and returning with licence.
Happiness is a means of travel, not a destination
Two HPs, a camera van and a mufti between home and Raumati this morning. Absolutely nothing around on the return trip.
