    The Vulcan's progress

Hi all. It's a while since I posted anything so here's an update on my new bike.
We are getting on pretty well so far. Still shiny side up and all that.
She is an awesome bike and it has been great fun getting to know her.

Approaching 3,000 km on the clock now. We have progressed from early morning 100km rides to the 460 km ride we did last Wednesday - that beautiful day of clear skies and no wind.
We rode up to Waipu for breakfast then onwards. Whangarei, Kawakawa, Opononi and down thru the Waipoua Forest . . . and no, it was not me dragging the boards on those twisties that caused the sparks that created that bad news fire up there ! !
Home via Dargaville and pretty tired too. But a great ride.

In a week am off to Matamata with an overseas friend. We plan to enjoy those great roads down there. Coromandel Pen. Taupo/Rotorua area and I'd like to ride the Desert Road if time permits.

My friend has bought a 1982 Yamaha XV750 to ride while here. It's proving a good reliable bike and appears to have no problems apart from a noisy starter which we are looking at. So all well there.
The bike will be sold again in another month as is not worth having it sit in garage until next year. Lets hope we find another as good then.

So cheers all. Lets hope this summer has lots of fine weather still to come.

    Happy riding everyone.
    I ride for the love of it . . . . .
