    Again - car vs motorcycle!!

Yes, you read it right-shaping up to be a bad month with all these bins.
hXc was knocked off his bike today.
After school, in somewhat heavy (for Napier) traffic about 100 m from the school gates, he was riding slowly (about 10 kph) when he was hit from behind by another student from school. She was travelling at about 50 and didn't see him (quelle surprise!!). She hit the right rear of his bike with the left front of her car, pushed the back of the bike sideways, just cleared his leg then hit the brake caliper on the right front fork. Damage at this point, is the rear plastics are all farked, seat is broken, tank scratched and dented, muffler stuffed, right footpeg set bent, front brrake caliper smashed, disc bent and forks twisted in the triple clamps.
She is denying responsibility, says he hit her from behind!! WTF?? Damage to her car is limited to left front guard, bumper and bonnet.
hxc has a few grazes on his back and is complaining of slight back pain.
She gets to drive away, we have to trailer hXc's bike to the shop.
Cops attended and the evidence supports hXc's side of things, she will get a ticket for failing to stop in half the clear road - $150!
Looks like hxc's bike is a write off - but bikes can be replaced. He is fine, when he could have so easily lost his leg.
A great start to the new school year for him.... I think not!!

Don't get him a new bike!! The insurance can kick start his exchange programme fund...

Zac bro, just a blip on the radar. You're ok, that's what is important. You'll be back into it before too long buddy.

(I'd like to point out that I didn't report this one!!)

Give the cheeky little bastard a Hi from me. Prick of a situation and I'm glad he came out of it ok.

I wonder if she's insured... and what's he want to get next?

Did the chick show interest in his welfare, or was more concerned about herself and the blame?

    Cool

    ((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))) for Hxc......

Gee whizz, I am so glad he is ok......

Damned pleased the police are gonna charge the driver of the car for being in the wrong.

Get him to write everything down as it happened and to also draw a picture of it all. Helps for later when the police come to take a statement. and for insurance purposes.

yep the bike can be fixed or replaced......

I hope that bike rider has insurance and she doesn't, so that she gets taken to the cleaners.

Sorry to hear! She should be charged with careless use causing injury! Get Hxc checked out anyway, as ACC can have it on record in case his back plays up in the future.

Seems a repetitive kind of thing we are reading about here, thank goodness Jac is relatively unharmed, the bike repair is a pain for sure, in more ways than one, I guess someone will have to taxi now? Make sure that man of yours takes extra care out there for a bit eh?

    Well...
That was certainly an experience I would prefer not to be repeated. Stupid woman, shouldn't be allowed on the road. Especially them young ones.

I'm ok, which is the main thing. Nothing to be too wound up about, I couldn't of done anything to stop it happening. My back is a bit grazed and a little sore, and I have the formings of a bruise or two on my leg. Nothing serious though, which is good.

Bike is another story. But it can be replaced. Coyote has expressed interest in the bike if it is a write-off, but I don't know what to get next. I can't exactly not have a bike, I would die! I would lose all my freedom and everything. It's another year until I can get my full and I'm a law abiding citizen, so not exactly gunna go ride a 900 although I would love to.

Hmmm...what to do, what to do.

Not good to hear, Yungatart. Seems pretty poor that she will only get a fine when the consequences could have been so much more serious.

Glad to hear he's in one piece and only has aches and pains, but bummer about the bike.
