    Angry

hXc, sorry to hear about your biff. I'm so hot on this stuff and strongly agree with Lucy.

What happens so often is the "offender" (for want of a better term) is all nice and apologetic - and a bit hyped at the time, then quickly slides in to denial and starts constructing a defence (or attack) once they've had the influence of friends and parents etc and have gone in to denial mode.

Gone are the days when people say " I'll put my hand up, its my fault, sorry" - and stick to the story.

As a Rep on the road, I carry a digital camera in the car for work - but also for any prangs. If someone hits me, the camera comes out 1st, - before the "hello's, are you all rights" - I have done this, taking pics showing the position of the car, the rego, THE DRIVER (stops the bullshit later as to which disqualified driver it was) . The camera obviously captures the time and date.

Shooting the faces of any witnesses wouldn't hurt either.

Sure you may have insurance, but you'll soon get pisssssssed off as it drags on, no wheels, out of pocket, and The Offender maintains denial, carries on with her normal life knocking Bikers off etc.

So you don't carry a digital? My bet is most people have camera phones. The pics come out not bad when e-mailed to a PC. And as Lucy says, the fact that you are pro active shows them you're serious.

I'd call the Wallopers too, - and drop the "someone said they saw her texting" thing - thay CAn trace that.

    Phew, rant finished. Well nearly.

Sounds like your bike is stuffed (RIP). But a quick look after a prang can often result in no damage noticed. Take details anyway. There are untold stories of finding expensive cracks and frame damage later.

One more: A guy from our club on his mint Yamaha Cruiser pulls in to a gas station. A car drives past him, way too close, and runs over his foot. Ouch you may say, - read on. The idiot cage driver BACKS UP, over foot again to try and un do the situation.

So this guy gets treatment, major time in hospital, and I see him in the Mall a year later still on crutches, and ask him "whats the story?" His reply " It gets amputated next week"

Let us know when you get the bike home. If she is not going to pay we should pull off the broken bits and see what we can find and get it back on the road. Third party is a problem as it leaves you to fight the insurance company. That is if you can get passed the drive. This sucks.

    finally!!!

Hoo-f'kn-ray. The bitch has admitted liability*, now insurance can go ahead. Hopefully the bullshit will be behind us, and we will get a quick and fair resolution.
    * mind you, only after we stressed that court was next step and our ducks were all in a row.

Yeeee-Fkn-Haaaaaa! Glad to hear it. So which of her family had sufficient brain cells to see they would be fucked in court - or did they work it out by communal grunting?

Here's hoping that State, The Oblivious, antes up the moola soon.

You guys should'a' said he was arse-ended by a UFO - according to their publicity, they pay out promply on that...

I have no idea how they worked it out.(TBH, I don't much care how, but I'm glad they did!)
It is odd, cos at 5.30 pm they were denying liability, like there was no tomorrow, Mstrs told State that we would definitely be taking her to court and the papers were prepared already for filing tomorrow, then at 6.30 we got a phone call from State, saying there had been some "miscommunication and confusion" and they were admitting liability.
Seems they want to know, as she has a high excess, wether it would be more economical to pay us out without going through insurance....all I can say is the excess must be f****n ginormous......makes you wonder how many other people this little cow has hit - and how many just gave up and let it lie...

Really pleased to hear that threats of legal action still work.

Well that's one step forward at least - has the bike shop advised of a price for the damage yet?

The mechanic at the bike shop is recommending (just quietly) that it be written off - he is concerned at what an impact of that size does to an alloy frame.

Ahh bugger, but better the bike being written off than hxc! Ah well, it's good to hear that some positive progress has been made in regards to this matter!

Now...when does he go shopping for a new ride?

He's looking for a car for the best reason possible.

    Hurray

About time you guys got some good news regarding that silly moo that ran over Zac (then blamed him!).

Hope you get your money off them soon (not in tiny wee incriments if they're paying themselves).

Couldn't believe the cheek of the family asking you earlier to help pay for the repairs to her bloody car - WTF is up with that!

    Lots of love
