Good to hear you're all in one piece, 'tis a shame about the bike
I've always had a concern for getting sandwiched in between cars at the lights by someone coming up behind, developed a habit of checking behind me when pulling up and leaving a bit of space so I can blip forwards if needed.
Anyways ride safe and rock on![]()
I think you should screw 'em for every penny you can and get a car and an RG150!
But then that's my opinion....and we all know the story about opinions!
That could work, except the money I get from insurance will go back to 'the wrinklies' to pay them back the, as it stands, $5208 loan. They will then buy a car, it will be their car, but I use it and pay for maintenance etc. When I go off to MAINZ and finish my diplomas/certificates, I get the car.
Oh, and Mum's bike is 'fine' for getting around town on, but not for me to ride on the open road etc.
And the GSXR...Dad would kill me slowly, causing as much pain as possible if I ever took that out.

I remember the first time I was allowed to borrow my (foster) Dads bike, a newish at the time GS550 Suzuki. First was the disbelief, then the acceptance that he wasn't pulling my leg, the excitement and the graphic extruded description of what he'd do to me if I dropped it and was at fault. I seem to remember red hot teaspoons, a camp stove, bamboo, fire ants, the next door neighbours VERY over weight daughter, a medieval mace and a rubber mallet being mentioned.

No rack or thumbscrews? Pshaw!!
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
Hah yeah my old man had an AG 100 and it was Verboten for me to touch. It stopped on him one day down the back and he went back to his horse. After a couple of weeks of negotiation the deal was that if I could fix it then I was allowed to ride it. I switched the fuel onto reserve and told him some sort of complicated story as to what was wrong and he kept his end of the deal though he often complained about it's deteriorating condition from there on.
If you love it, let it go. If it comes back to you, you've just high-sided!
