    sv1000sz k5

Never realised that the fully faired version of the SV1000 was actually a limited edition variant. I always thought the fairing was only available as an after maket add-on. Were ther ever imported into NZ/OZ?

The lower body fairing used to be available on the Official Suzuki website as an aftermarket part. I just noticed the part is no longer viewable. Infact, many parts are no longer viewable - including the carbon firbre yoke protectors, but they are still available via Suzuki dealers in NZ. Who in turn purchase them straight from Suzuki Japan.

Talk to your local suzuki dealership and I bet they can get you one.

Also, Ebay normally has heaps of these on there.

I put those same sort of fairings on my wife's K5 SV650S. They are freely available ex-USA. Don't get them through Suzuki New Zealand.... it will cost a fortune. Good time to get them from the states, while the dollar is up

Was at the Suzuki dealership today making sure they fit a new set of Battlax BT-45s to the GPX250. They've competely sold out of both the SV 650S and the 1000S. They never bothered to stock the naked versions as they don't sell. I like the dark blue of the K3. Over here they're red, metallic black or silver.

Right on. The K3 blue was the best colour.

The K7 is coming out in the same blue. Have seen it in the shops.

I never saw the GSXR Suzuki colour fairings on an SV in New Zealand.

Personally those blues are a bit light for me. The dark K6 blue is beutiful, but I own one so I could be biased

You gotta blue K6? Lucky man! Over here we got one colour for the K6 - "Pearl Black". The picture is directly from the Suzuki OZ website.

    Whats with that?

We have all three 06 colours in NZ.
The dark blue, Black and Metallic Ort (as in my profile pic).

You have black only? You're Australia - not Nuie!

Bike importers here make some really strange decisions, like not importing the GSF650 Bandit. Honda will no longer be importing the CBR600F, just the RR. Kawasaki are no longer importing the ZZR600, just the ER6f.

Yep, we generally only get one colour option for some models. It's a lot to do with the Aussie mentality - little or no lateral thinking. It's like NZ was in the early eighties with all the unions etc.

Mind you, there are a lot of great things too like the LAMS scheme.

I was lucky to get it as well if I had put my deposit down a few days later my choices would have been black or black, not that black is bad, I just like the blue.

Check out my profile pic for a photo
