URGENT HELP PLEASE - Hyosung 250 stuck on motorway and won't start

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Hi folks,

I just passed a young chap on the side of the motorway, on a Hyosung 250 (GTR I think).

He said it lost power, then the rear wheel locked up. Now, it won't start.
The light is on, so there's a bit of battery power.
He just filled up, and has half a tank of 95
You can change gears if the bike is pushed a bit
It did not make any funny sounds when loosing power
Push the starter, and the engine turns, but won't start

I'm just on my way back there to see if there's anything I can do, but if you have any ideas, perhaps you can txt/call me on 021627530 ???

The is the South-West motorway on the way to Auckland airport. He is on the side heading to the airport, and is just after the bridge.

    Cheers,

    ZAQ

PS - I just posted this, but it doesn't show up....

    Carbs

Seems the carbs tend to block up with crap! being asking a few others and it seems to be a common problem so might want to check that...

From someone that has no idea about engines!

Lost Power and rear wheel locked up...sounds almost like a piston filled with petrol and wont compress...had that happen on a CBR before.
Nail your colours to the mast that all may look upon them and know who you are.

    Sorted

    Hi guys,

    It's sorted now.

BTW - It wasn't my bike - I just saw a chappie pushing the bike by the side of the motorway and thought I'd go have look.

The bike was off for about 45 minutes - so it had a bit of time to settle down.

I think it may have been some crud in the tank (the bike was just refuelled a little while ago, possible just after a fuel truck deposited it's load) - most likely scenario.

Second possibility is fouled plugs (that dried up a bit in the meanwhile?) The bike idled rather roughly and then smoothened out.

Thirdly, I thought it may have been a kinked or loose fuel line - but they looked ok.

Rear wheel locking up: Hmmm not sure about this one. I may have "seemed" like it locked up. Or maybe a kickback of sorts, like Brett suggested.

N4CR and MYNAMEIS - thanks heaps for calling up!! Appreciate it!

    Cheers,
    ZAQ

PS - I had a 350 Enfield previously which used to act strange sometimes. It usually came down to the points, HT lead or battery charge. It's a bit tougher to get to all the fun bits with all the fairings, etc now-a-days.

UM... I should probably say hello too - I joined KB ages ago, but this is my first real post! I think I may have met some of you at the Westpac Ride - I'm sorry I don't remember any names.
