    Wet weathers over leather

Now I'm looking at the Motomail catalogue pg:65 at the Rjays oversuit and two piece rainwear and was woundering if any of you guys have this gear? or if there is a beter product out there.
I only ride in leather and am getting sick of being wet when its raining and as I need a new lid and boots soon I'm not looking at the Cordura jacket/trouser just yet.

I like the idea of a one piece but getting it over the leather might be a mission so would you reconmend a two piece even though it may not keep you as dry?
Also I have seen the Motoline 1pc rainsuit (03 Motomail pg:20) and it looks like it would do the job any one have this?
    cheers DD

Jet Leathers do a very good two-piece job for around $100. Rolls up nice and small, too.
For a one-piece, make sure it is fabric or mesh-lined. Unlined suits are a bitch to get on over leather, especially if it's damp. for a spot of quality, check out the Triumph branded gear. R-Jays is good, so I am told.

I always used a one peice,no draughts no leaks,it was made by Line 7 but I don't think they're available anymore,it wasn't to bad to put on.

I haven't tried it yet but was told sno seal is a very good product for waterprooffing leathers

Get on trademe.co.nz. I picked up a mint PVC 1 piece to go over my armoured leathers for $35. Rode back from Hastings the other day and got pissed on royally.... Didn't get wet one bit. Think they got some brand new items there for 90-ish...

Hi D, I got the rjay's wet weather gear and it's awesome, I thought I'd get some for Pete too after buying mine but they have just put the non-sale price back on it, I'd recommend it though really well made

I used to have a one-piece - kept me wonderfully dry (from the rain) but I sweated like a pig in the thing if there was even a hint of sun or warmth.
I much prefer two-piece wet-weather gear for riding year round, due to ease of movement and breathability. The one-piece wasn't too bad to get on as it had wide legs with a zip/velcro all the way down the left leg and diagonally across the chest, but getting my arms in the sleeves with leathers on was a bit of a bastid, especially if they were a bit damp.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

Yup. The Line 7 gear is great. The Man gave me his spare 1-piece set & it got a good work out on the weekend. Not too bad to get into, with the zip angled from left shoulder down to right hip.

Line 7 is sailing gear, so you'd imagine that they know what they're doing! Although it's unlikely to be cheap.

Can't find them on their Online Shop but I've sent them an e-mail with an enquiry about it.

Sno-seal or other beeswax based waterproofing products are great for leather. Basically, you heat up the leather, wipe on the sno seal, the leather sucks it in & you keep reapplying it until the leather stops soaking it up, then buff off the excess. Needs to be done every year or so, and has the advantage of keeping the leather in great condition too. It also works well on man made leather-type products, like my Alpinestar boots.

I have both the RJay jacket and the trousers. The trousers I wouldn't bother with as they do not have welded seams. Still they are of very good quality.

The jacket is brilliant, can't speak highly enough of it.

I also have a set of Line7 sailing overalls, garanteed to stop water getting in. They look pretty in red, some white and blue as well.

I've got the Motoline and it works real well. Kept me dry goin to the last Cold Kiwi and if it handles that, it'll handle anything! And not to much bother to put on either.

Go two piece, it's much easier to get on in a hurry. Make sure the pants waist comes up high.
