Smile Tonight was one of those nights

So I'm sitting on the deck out front of my house drinking a coffee in the sun after work. Lots of bikes cruising by, think 'it's a lovely evening for a ride, I'm off.' 20 minutes later, all gassed up and off I go.

Nice cruisy lap down to Gladstone, Martinborough, Greytown, Home. Ride time just over an hour, distance 96km.

What a ride. Everything came together so nicely. Small subtle movement of weight to turn into a corner, smooth gear shifts up and down, smooth acceleration and deceleration.

All these things have slowly been coming together, especially over the last two or three months, but tonight everything just felt in harmony. I've had a lot of fun rides over the past two years, but tonight felt fantastic and satisfying in a very different way.

    mmm I like riding

It was certainly a nice night for it
Often find its easier to get "in the zone" when you are riding alone
Experience......something you get just after you needed it

i do my "in the zone" ritual before i go riding, it works a treat. I take about 10 long deep breaths and then imagine riding smoothly from my perspective with everything going great.

Theres nothing like the peace and quiet ( except for the purring of the engine ) when riding in the 'zone', no stress, no worries, just a road ahead and memories of the past behind you.......a good time to unwind.

You must be the most passionate motorcycle person I know Brent.. good stuff!!! And thanks for letting me ride your bike tonight.... the difference between a GN and your CBR is HUGE!!! Scared me silly... but it was getting dark.... although alittle disappointed you couldnt handle my GN
