Anyone ever owned a CBX 250RS??

Im just wanting to know other riders experiences with these bikes (CBX 250RS). - I have done a seach but didnt find extremely much.

I have the opportunity to purchase a late 80's model with around 35,000k's. I think it will suit my general commuting needs and isnt going to break the bank.

What are the engines like in these things?

Anything specific i should look for when inspecting the bike?

Are part readily available? Or interchangable with any other bike?

Any info would be much appreciated!!
    Cheers

I had a CB 250 N about a hundred years ago. It was a great bike, really easy to service yourself if you have a mind to learn. Dunno about parts now but you could try econohonda, they're pretty good for my 88 VTZ which is a rare bike to begin with and not as similar to a VT as you'd think.

Got one in the garage. I spent the last year on it commuting into Wellingtoon almost every day. Passed my full a couple of days ago so I can now ride my 500.
The CBX has been a good bike for me. I'm not exactly petite but it has managed to carry my carcase around with out a problem. They don't have a lot of grunt and you definately need to use the gearbox. Headwinds can be a bit of a pain but it all depends on the type of riding you want to do. I still managed to have a good time on the Takas on mine so they are not that bad.
I changed the front sprocket from a 12 tooth to a 13. It made quite a bit of difference to the top end.

Parts can be a little rare but I didn't have any problems in the last year so have never had to source anything. The're generally bullet proof. (Mine has 65000k on it) They do tend to use oil so you need to keep on top of that. They don't like running dry. (not many bikes do).
They are a light bike which can be thrown around corners. Just make sure that it has decent tyres.

Good luck if you decide to go ahead with the purchase
I'm only wearing black until they develop something darker

is an ok honda but like all jap bikes change the oil the day you get it and then every 5000k for trouble free riding
If you say either "I can" or "I can't" your correct.
