We have a good painter in our fraternity who can do good cheap paintjobs to give her a new lease of life, plus, I know a thing or two about polishing....

If/when she gets restored, can I register Uma under the classic rego (the 40 year old + ) one?
Good choice mate, I know thats what id be doing if I had some thing along thode lines.

For the record Qkkid was in my bed, not the other way round

Her old number plate was "99UMA" so the name just fitted her perfectly. Classical ladies name for a classic bike.
A friend and I bought her at a wreckers auction for $80, actually it was more like 10-12 years I've had her now.
At the time, I also bought a 1963 Honda C-110 (which is a motorcycle 50cc pushrod-engined version of the stepthru) which I got rid of for some obscure reason.

Keep it and do it up or you could sell it to me and I'll do it up. I'm looking for a winter project

Here is a pic of my last restoration project a Z1A http://s130.photobucket.com/albums/p..._photos/Bikes/

I had to sell her (and the Bonny) to pay for my emigration costs to NZ, I wish i'd sold something else now and bought her with me.
Ride her every day... while you still can!

Now that you have reminded me, your quite right. However alot of shite has flowed out since then, so you'll have to forgive me for forgetting that other particular pearl of wisdom.

    You hurt my feelings.
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

WOW !!! That Z1A is BEAUTIFUL !!!!! (and the Bonny too of course )
    T.W.R. will be orgasming !!!

Vintage Yamaha parts are very hard to come by these days, but I guess not impossible.
I once had an opportunity on buying a YDS-3 to restore but passed because I thought the parts would be too difficult to get....

Nah she will be as original as I can get her, within parts availability constraints.

Are you suggesting I've butchered your bucket?

Don't you dare turn it into a bucket! Rebuild/restore her.

No, not me I've built enough buckets in the past.

This one is going to be practically like Yamaha-San designed it.
The only mods I do have on it is YL-1 front forks, rear suspension and exhaust. I did this a long time ago as when I got it, the original muffler had rusted out and I had a pile of YL-1 bits lying around.

Not at all,but I have seen it so many times, where a car or bike, gets sold & turns up matt black or pink with some big exhaust hanging out the back of it
