yes. MB is quite different to the H100, but also quite the same. The H100 A & H100 S are more the same than they are different, but in a different way unto which they are similar.![]()
oh all right, MB has different frame & running gear, also different barrel & head. Bottom end & piston are the same thus top ends interchangeable but won't fit back into frame. Porting on MB probably a bit racier. H100 A & S might be minor changes, some have points, some CDI, think some gearbox change pattern difference exists. All make good buckets & accept MB50 6 speed normal gearboxes & better ignitions.
Don't you look at my accountant.
He's the only one I've got.
I used to race an H-100 bucket racer back in 1989....yup that long ago.
I put an MB-5 six-speed in and it made a world of difference. A pipe, a bit of porting and a bigger carb - she used to go quite well.
Standard frame, brakes and suspension, meant she was also a handful !!!!
(I'll see if I can dig up a photo of it).
You can port them to CR125 (air-cooled) specs fairly easily.
My opinion was back then, the GP100's were a better machine as they could be made to go faster than most others.

89, Hey, that's when I had my MB50 racer. Did you used to frequent Ohakea or elsewhere?
Hey Dave, you joined a scant 3 weeks ago & the screen name dave wasn't already taken? Sheesh! Would have thought you would have had to be dave306 by now.

No, I used to race out at Wigram at the aircraft parking bays. We used to use part of the taxiways as a long straight.
Then in the early 90's, we migrated to Carrs Road Kart-track, not without a lot of political problems from the president of that association back then.
We got it sorted though.

Went down & raced at the last Wigram GP thingy. Did Carrs road ~ 3 yrs back but think that was a one off thing.

I ended up building a CB125 twin which I styled like Freddy Spencers CB900F superbike.
I gave the engine a good tune too.
It was harder to keep up with the GP/H/MB 100's but a lot of fun.
But with a loud 2:1 pulling 15-16,000 rpm she sounded good !!

Sorry Officer - I wasn't speeding, i was qualifying...
No unfortunately, I am very tempted to build another though.
A trick I did was remove the fly wheel completely and then run it total-loss ignition. It made it rev really freely.
