Thats great they paid up in the end but shouldn't of happened in the first place.

So the donation is that what a few KB's put together if HRC didn't pay up??
If so good stuff they've peeled me off the road before, they deserve it

Yeah and good on Ruralman for posting the initial thread that brought this to the attention of everyone here. Bloody ashame that HRC had to be bludgeoned to take action!

one 'anonymous' member (yes, i know who you are), sent me this message by pm with a red bling:

"Because non of this FUSS would have happened if you'd kept ya nose out."

Sadly the member just doesn't get it. Sure the board here would have been quieter but the reputation of motorcyclists in small town NZ would have taken yet another hit.

I'd rather make a fuss and rescue bikers' reputations in reality than worry about a little fuss in cyberspace.

Thanks again to all who donated and all who offered donations: St Johns will be garteful and certainly the Franz Joseph hotel folk (and no doubt most of the people they know in the town) will also be grateful.

Good on you Mr III. Green on it's way.

to all that fronted up with the $'s to reach the target.
Mr III already had the full amount pledged before I got a chance...

SO..... the $20 I was going to throw in.. I will still donate to St Johns.

Oh! and to the member who complained about the fuss. You obviously have no conscience. When I turn up in that area later in the year, I don't want to end up with hassle and tarred with the same brush due to $&^%&^%*^%^&%^& (insert relevant words here)....
I'm only wearing black until they develop something darker

From this information, I'd hazard a guess that the member lives in a large city, possibly Dorkland, and thinks that a long ride is a track day or a trip to the coffee shop.

For some of us it is important that we maintain a good reputation in the smaller towns around the country, and the response from the Franz Joseph Hotel management shows that most members of this forum do still have a good reputation in Franz Joseph at least.
    Time to ride
