I've ridden one that vintage.
I was rather surprised by the power delivery - compared to most V-twins I've ridden it was quite abrupt and harsh - I remember my comments at the time were that it was a Daytona 675 that'd been raped by a TL1000S! Fuel injection probably a bit on/off, as it was a bit snatchy.
Definitely not wanting in power, and handled pretty damn good too. A lot better than a TL1000S... and yes they wheelie nicely - just pull the throttle back and continue twisting to control height
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.
