so that doesnt help the debate but i enjoyed writing a load of shite

    lee
being as you brought it up.

Yes. Way back when adam was a cowboyz GOLF orginated and it was known for Gentleman only, Ladies forbidden.

    Then we let woman play.

Now we have ladies only days on golf courses. Where men can't play because it is reserved for the woman. however woman can play on club days, mens tournaments (they even get the tees put further forward to make the game "fair") There was a time not so long ago where on a "ladies day" (usually wednesdays) NO men at all were allowed to step foot on the course. Nowadays woman have grown up a little bit and simply reserve the first and tenth tees for a few hours. The ladies can have 15-20 ladies show up to play and instead of going off 1 tee and leaving the other 9 for other members to play they will still go off 2 tees and clog up the course.

I don't know why woman went all out for equality.... Don't know why they want to downgrade themselves.

So this time a little eloquence and hushed tones should preface my scribblings.

Angel bikers and girls only rides is patronising to women. Suggesting they are weak and feeble, incapable of mixing it with the boys and special in some way the men are not, otherwise men would also have their own forum to vent. A ride based on an 'ism' is illogical and usually not tolerated any where else in society, a ride based on race for instance would cause melt down on KB. Legislation exists to gaurd against Racism, Sexism, Ageism etc. and rightly so. Because of this situation some of us feel less than comfortable with the idealogical direction gender based riding is going. You do not have to agree with my assertions, but trying to understand would be a great sign of respect towards men.

I realise in practice 'girls only rides' are not only no big deal but historically always contain men. So be it, go forth and enjoy I wish you all well.
Ohhh... Wait a minute!! I know you are a nice guy, cause you told me so, but........

MOST if not all the rides I go on (I ride at least once during the week and in the weekend) contain the majority of males. And its absolutely great!!

I understand where you are coming from.. but 'this' girly ride should be titled more.... "Lets go have a coffee and a little natter and throw in a ride here and there" Thats what girls do. And its not like we do 'girly' rides very often, just now and then.. maybe two a year if we are lucky.

But also 'this' girly ride I think we want to be treated a little special.. not just one of the guys, but when we ride up to Quasi's show, believe me, the guys arent going to know what hit them... (trudes is going to wear a bikini) hehe (dont kill me trudes!) Sometimes girls are girls and want to be treated different... (now and then). Do you see where I am coming from?

But I think this dispute is over now isnt it?

    two cents worth

Of course they can organise rides if they want to.
I dont know about other chicks out there but i took up riding because i was bored, bored, bored of coffee and shopping expeditions etc.

If it wasnt for guys like Rossi, Agostini, Gardner, riding wouldnt be so inspiring, men and women have different strenghts and qualities, lets focus on the good ones ( groan , as i imagine all the guys out there thinking of women's good qualities and having a special moment)

First do no harm and all that

Good point... one of the reasons I took up riding was to get away from the kids, and to actually drink a full cup of coffee without having to run around after them... Bliss actually.

For anyone who is still not convinced that a chicky ride isn't a good thing, go read the posts of the Auckland girly coffee run. There were a bunch of really HAPPY people (who happen to be chicks) who enjoyed a day out sharing an awesome hobby with like minded people. There is too much misery in this world so how can something that makes so many people happy (and hurts no-one) not be a good thing? :slap:
