Or they could join the girls ride (refer post #1)

I've been attending KB rides for about 2 years - been on almost all of them that have been publicly organised in Auckland over the weekends.

But I've never, ever seen or been subjected to ridicule for being a slow rider, right from my days with a L-plate arriving 20mins plus after the rest of the group.

Hell - people like Loosebruce, Two Smoker, Motoracer, Death, Zed, Aff-man, etc, would be waiting, parked on the side of the road with no helmets on and big welcoming smiles on their faces.

What is this chest beating - pressure to keep up - peepee envy that people are talking about??
Squeak and Yungatart hit the nail on the head. I'm slow and so is my bike and even though I know everyone will wait for me I push it a bit and start stuffing things up because I don't want to make them wait too long. It would also be nice to be able to ride with a few others rather than riding on my own only catching up when they stop to wait only to be left behind until the next stopping point. This happens even on the cruisy rides! Thats why I asked to go on Lissa's ride, because there were others with the same type of bike who I would be able to ride with, not because I wanted to show off in front of chicks.

As justsomeguy says riders are usually good types that will wait but I know they like riding and would rather that they could go out and have a good time without worrying about us slow types - or thats my opinion anyway.

Not saying there shouldn't be girl only rides, just trying to point out that some of the guys like to get away from the testorone atmosphere as well.

But my bike won't do 120. Bugger, looks like I am still single then

How could you say they dont mix with bikes? I'd love to meet you sometime, and educate you with force, and my lady wants to give you the learn on two wheels!

Its funny how everyone who wants to give me the "learn" doesnt live in/near auckland (not saying I live there or not.... err I would travel to aucks to meet up with somone or somthing....)

Im happy to go for a ride with any chick at any time, just not on a group ride with "serrious" bikers like myself. Im sure there is heaps of womens only cooking and cleaning groups you "fellas" can join. Don't worry I'll be fine!

p.s If anyone really wants to meet me for a ride it will have to wait for a while my bike is off the road, bent rim / no front fairing / worn carb internals. Should be back on the road in less than 1 month!
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

He's been trying to tell me how great he is for years, and now this, geeze!
Actually he is pretty good (don't tell him I said that, he might stop trying), so if he's "da man", does that make me "da woman"?
(On second thoughts, don't answer that!)

I don't think you are getting it yet. It's not about riding with the same type of bikes, if you want this go on a 250 ride, or organise a GN ride. It's about riding with the same type of people, in this case 'girls'.
In the last Wgtn/Rappa girls ride there was all sorts of bikes and speeds, just like any other group ride. And just like any other group ride the faster riders waited for the slower riders at the re group points.

You guys write like you have never been to Wellington, cause there are plenty girls here that know how to ride bikes. I am sure there are girls that can ride up Auckland way as well, maybe they are so far in front you have not met them yet.

    Thanks guys and girls.

I think having the poll on the thread has helped hold it together. The nay sayers don't have a leg to stand on. The KB public (and Spank Me) have spoken.

I was going to go for a ride today but my helmet is too small now

You suck Nigs! (Trudy told me so.. ) Always a pleasure to have reasoned public debate. There have been a couple of good ones on KB in the last couple of months...

Kendog you need to reread my post [I suspect a few others do as well]. The key word is suggesting.
I am well aware women can ride just as well if not better than men having ridden on numerous occasions with talented ladies.

Just a stray point but a few people in this thread have failed to either read the posts fully or have poor comprehension.

What are you talking about Kendog?...it was a public discussion, individuals gave their opinions. That's all.
Neither right or wrong. The naysayers obviously in your world are people who bring up pertinent points of interest/discussion that you disagree with.
It may interest you to know that parliament and the international community does everything they can to fight discrimination based on 'isms'
So on that note and by your fuzzy logic you loose....downsize the helmet!!

I'm with SPB on this and not only that, the reason for the thread and poll was bollocks anyway.

Colapop had asked for people to organise 3 separate rides for the Quasimoto/WMCC expo in Waikanae.

I hate organising big rides, for a whole bunch of reasons, not the least of which is the deaths of both bikes and riders, so I was less than chuffed to see someone organise a ride, perfectly specced to be the short/slow/easy ride and it excluded 50% of the population based on gender.

    Meh.

So I took the piss (I was a teeny weeny bit serious as well) in the hope that the aforementioned orgnasier would, "Oh yeah, woops, let's make this the short ride", but noooooo, the PC brigade got stuck in and tried to make me look like a dick.

    I.

    Don't.

    Need.

    Your.

    Help.

I did not take sides at the start of the thread and poll (even though I had a side at the start) I was asking an open question looking for peoples thoughts on the right or wrong for girls to arrange girl rides on KB.
I have my answer both from the general KB populous and from the site owner!

You know why the thread and poll was started, you instigated it this time round.

The girls ride in mention has an end point of Quasimoto's expo, but to my knowledge (and the knowledge of the co-organiser) this ride was not part of the organisation of the expo. It is simply another ride.

Again, not part of the expo planning. The girls were just looking for a date to organise the next girl only ride. Someone mentioned the Quasi event and it was agreed this would be a good date for the next ride (this was all discussed in the biker angels thread, prior to the girls ride thread being created)

The poll was not about you or the Quasi event. It is about a repeating topic on this site. Should girls be allowed to organise girl only rides on KB?

Your comments here are unrelated to the topic of this thread, why are you not making these comments in the threads in question?

Just to let you all know, the Kendogs are going for a bike ride shortly.

This is a ride for Kendogs only, sorry if this hurts anyone's feelings.
