    Oh, FFS talk about precious.

    1. Fact - organise a men's only ride - get your arse kicked from here to Timbuktu by CSL.

    2. Fact - no one said girls weren't allowed to organise rides that were girls only.

    3. Fact - It's not all about YOU!

I reckon this is one of those "we'll have to agree to disagree" debates.
Me? I'm in the "yes" camp. Who are we to say they can't? If anyone is that desperate to join in with les girls, I'm sure you could "just happen to be passing" and they wouldn't mind at all. But I think this whole topic is getting close to being blown out of all proportion... if not already PD.

Meantime, I'm going to organise a ride for non-bikers - only those without a bike can come!

    I voted yes

I think there are still plenty of women who feel intimidated by the presence of men, that's probably why there are so many women-only clubs (anywhere in the world).
I doubt whether that has anything to do with girls-only rides, it always sounds like good fun. (personally I don't like group rides though)

So why not a men-only ride, were there any problems organising it before?

This got me thinking. Is organising a girl only ride in open forums going against the spirit ok KB?
Or should they arrange these rides in secret, or go somewhere else to organise them?

    What do you think?
KiwiBiker is an internet forum for the public.
KiwiBiker is an internet forum for the public.
KiwiBiker is an internet forum for the public.

It is not an arm of the government with legal powers.
It is not a criminal gang with dangerous and or physically harmful tendencies.
It is not a mindless cult.
It is not a formal club with a strict and enforced code of conduct holier than God or more devilish than Satan.

Try and get this into your head.

So what does it really matter what people think?

Are you really concerned what people think or is this another one of those “I wanna pee standing up too” rants?

The spirit of KB?? We used to have one - now it's gotten all touchy, feely, politically correct and frankly rather stupid. Only when there's some real trouble do we sometimes see it surface, then it's back to the usual.

There, someone more intelligent has paraphrased with such precision.

Men-only clubs are illegal in NZ. There is an Act of Parliament that prevents discrimination on the basis of gender and race.

However it doesn't apply to women in practice.

Yes Juud, I tried to organise a blokes ride in response to a women's only ride and the thread got removed. By whom I have no idea because no one would own up to it, but CSL and I got into a robust debate that demonstrated fairly overtly that you aren't allowed to even mock the female hegemony.

I once posted a ride for 'younger' members and that got a whole lot of peoples knickers in a twist. It's public forum, if you are going to get in a shitty about someone organising something that you are prefered not to be at then get some friends, maybe you can go riding with them.

If someone wants to meet up with people of a certain lifestyle/sex/race/nationality then its up to them...

where opinion holds more weight than fact.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

Cos you're a dirty stinky male, with sex on your mind and an immature boyish brain. Whereas they are innocent, lovely, angelic ....... oh hold on a minute ....

You saying there's more to the argument? You sure?

Guys a question, your girlie said in a high pitched voice "Oooh me and the girls are going shopping for make-up and then we going to have some coffee... gigggle giggle *ahem I think thats how girls do it lol* - would you want to go? No its a girl thing and its kinda understood...

A bit like when guys want to drink beer and, watch rugby and burp... its guy time, I dont want to be there...

So why get all huffy about a ride?....

I dont get it... I myself enjoy riding with guys... in fact there was a time I was the only woman rider I knew... but hey who cares...

My point is - Do what you want, that has always been my motto for life...

I think it's a pretty stupid question. For one, we can't police who decides who can come on a ride. People organise sportsbike only rides, cruiser only rides, dirtbike rides, experienced riders only rides, newbie riders, 250 riders, Suzuki owners & couples rides so why the hell would anyone make a fuss about just havin lassies on a ride?

I should imagine they'll have a jolly good time without all the testosterone driven bullshit.

I can't believe anyone would be retarded enough to complain... and even if they did, who cares what they have to say? Just do it... what are they gonna do? Call the human rights commission and complain If the complain on here... put them on the ignore list
