Bloody stupid poll. Of course they can organise their own rides. Thats the whole fucking point of the site. Any group of any description can organise any biker event they want.
Sprirt of KB, bollocks!
Yes
No
I don't care either way

Girls have their own way of thinking and riding so it's a good thing. They can talk about what works for them and communicate in that weird way that they do when boys aren't around... so all power to them...
The only boys that complain are slower than girls anyway
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
we will remember them
girl only rides is a good idea - but they have to be a little realistic in the fact that some guys will turn up.
I would love to take 'V' on the back with you girls, so she gets to see the chick side of riding. Otherwise when is she going to experience it - at the mall?
Reactor Online. Sensors Online. Weapons Online. All Systems Nominal.
Shit - rang out of bling - have to spread it around and all that. But yes - same here.
It comes down to intent. If the presence of guys (in this case) would stuff up the overall goal of the ride then have no problem with it. Some of the rides organised for the women are probably to ride the group of hormone crased guys that have an overwhelming and consistant desired to impress the ladies... through riding like a jerk, talking shit and hitting on everything with boobs.
I'm going out on a limb here but I think that kind of stuff would make the ride and gatherings a little less enjoyable if you were trying to just enjoy the ride on a nice day.

I love riding with guys… When I organised the Wairarapa ride (chicks and dicks) a couple of weeks ago, we had about 30 bikes… out of those only about 5 were female riders. But I loved that ride, and loved meeting a lot of new people. Without Sels1 helping me with that one, we would have ended up god knows where…. doing god knows what. (hmm sounds like fun!)
But I also don’t see the prob with organising a chick only ride occasionally. I bet some organised rides that happen, no girls show up, due to the fact there aren’t as many girls as guys. But chick rides arent exclusively girls anyway and guys tend to show up… which is always welcomed. But its also nice to actually outnumber the men…. empowers us to give the ones that are there even more shit.
I don’t want this to turn into a bitch slapping session… so basically what spanker said.
I really enjoy organising rides … and really want to organise more in the future, esp in the Wairarapa, but I don’t want to have to bake muffins to tempt the guys to come along to them.. because they feel they arent wanted. Because a) I don’t really like baking and b) I am not that great at it.
" It appears that the website has become alive. This happens to computers and robots sometimes. Am I scared of a stupid computer? Please. The computer should be scared of me."
My answer is yes, they should.
And guys should be able to organise guys only rides, and yes we would cop shit about it and be called sexist but we're used to double standards.
But I'm surprised Lias hasn't proposed whitey's only rides........
And next week is grumpy old bung-head only rides and it looks like I'll be alone... actually on second thoughts![]()
It isn't just about the actual riding:
The styles that men and women use to communicate have been described as "debate vs. relate", "report vs. rapport, or "competitive vs. cooperative". Men often seek straightforward solutions to problems and useful advice whereas women tend to try and establish intimacy by discussing problems and showing concern and empathy in order to reinforce relationships.
Jennifer Coates, in her book Women, Men and Language (New York: Longman Inc., 1986) studied men-only and women-only discussion groups and found that when women talk to each other they reveal a lot about their private lives. They also stick to one topic for a long time, let all speakers finish their sentences and try to have everyone participate. Men, on the other hand, rarely talked about their personal relationships and feelings but "competed to prove themselves better informed about current affairs, travel, sport, etc.". The topics changed often and the men tried to "over time, establish a reasonably stable hierarchy, with some men dominating conversation and others talking very little".
Someone once suggested that men and women are actually different species living in a symbiotic relationship. Sometimes I'm inclined to agree.
For those who didn't catch the reason this thread and poll was started http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...ad.php?t=44165 the last couple of pages should help with clarification.
Exactly, believe me, I enjoy riding with the guys, but it's nice to have a ride with the gals in mind, usually turns into a gossip session, which is great!
For the record, I don't have a problem with the guys having a guy only ride, gives me a chance to do something that doesn't interest him, or gather my girlie mates together and go for a ride or something. Also I've run out of bling for the day, so yeah!![]()
Where is the option for who cares?????
Ride with whomever you want - sheesh, you can actually organise a solo ride (you know, just you on your own).
I don't care what happens, or who rides with who, surely it is about the ride!!
Diarrhoea is hereditary - it runs in your jeans
If my nose was running money, I'd blow it all on you...
Of course! The "girls rides" were never girls only, they were/are girl oriented
