Where have all the group rides gone?

I don't see hardley any organised rides here anymore. Why not? We ( me, motoracer, loosebruce etc) usta do 'em all the time, like every weekend there'd be something, and get some really decent sized groups......
The northland rides seem to be popular, so why no local ones?
Even on the odd occasion I've posted a ride up, hardley anyone comes now....

The chicks are all off gallivanting about on their bikes while the blokes stay home and clean the toilet and mow the lawns.

Or is that gallivanting off on lawn mowers and toilets while blokes clean their bikes?

There was something about brooms in there too........

Maybe I should add a 'there's no chicks, they're off on their own ride' option....

I'll come out riding with you Andy.

Money and time are probably the key reasons for me.
After the track day at Taupo - my wife said to me
"Track Days or weekend rides? Pick one cos you cant have both."

    I picked track days.

PS - Will definitely make the effort for an weekend ride if I sneak one past...

I used to go to a few but their popularity in some ways became their undoing. When the groups were getting to 30-40 bikes and the mix of different rider levels made them a bit of a logistical nightmare. In addition to the breakdowns, getting lost or bins. While occasionally I frequent a few, esp the Northland ones, there is regular group of like minded riders I prefer to ride with.

Haven't been on an orginized ride for a while. Have been on a few disorginised rides lately though. Seem to be more fun for some reason.
