Snoring bikers - How to stop them ruining events.

Not sure whether this is the best place to post this but it needs to go somewhere.
How many times have you been on a rally or sharing a room with other bikers at a backpackers, or even sharing a bed with one, and having what was probably going to be a limited nights sleep anyway ruined by someone snoring their bloody heads off.
Without naming names it was a bit of an issue on our recent Sth Island Passes trip but generally we sorted it without any major conflict, but it could have been much worse a problem. One of our members who knew he was usually a bad snorer unselfishly took himself away to sleep somewhere where he couldn't disturb the rest of us ( In actual fact he made less noise than some of us left behind!!)

About 6 months ago I bought one of these aveo TSD anti snoring devices as much for my own health as anything (because I don't usually have anyone in the same room to disturb). They really do work. It takes about a 5-7 days to get used to it and be able to go to sleep with it on. Occasionally I'll wake up and have the thing in my hand, or forget to put it back in after going to the loo or something, but if its in your gob holding your tongue it is impossible to snore (or talk or kiss or anything else with your mouth - but thats another story!)
Here's the link to the site which explains how it works (basically by grabbing your tongue, holding it forward, and preventing the blocking of the airway which causes snoring)

    http://www.aveosleep.com/

On our passes trip we had a pharmacist, Jeff, with us and he runs an online pharmacy and was keen to do a promotion to the biker community
    Heres his link
    http://www.oamaru-pharmacy.com/snoring-special.html

I can assure you that this isn't a bloody jack up - I don't get any commission or anything. This product really works and can make a huge difference to how a group of bikers can travel and stay together without getting on each others nerves. If you are a snorer then there are some serious long term health implications of not getting it sorted which Jeff covers on his site. Do make sure though that if you get one that you do allow yourself some time to get used to it - 5-7 days - and don't just expect it to arrive the day before you leave and solve all your problems the first night.

Oh one last thing - the record message function on mobile phones is useful for collecting evidence for those in denial about their snoring!!! (as would the vidio function with sound on most modern digital cameras)

Ah, get as life and buy some ear plugs if you can't handle a bit of ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!

There's more to stopping snoring than a device that just holds the tounge back. Jaws, nasal passages, weight and a few other issues can contribute to a person snoring.

Why DO men snore when they sleep on their backs?
Because their balls drop over their arseholes and block the airway!

Have firsthand experiance on the nightly basis. She's in total denial though. And has never been to Egypt either.....

For the record I've got sleepapnia, had the jaw jig, etc. But I still snore and generally rely on a nudge in the ribs as a gentle reminder to lay on my side.

On the Passes ride, there were only two people who I never heard snoring. Ruralman was one of them, so I guess his device really works.
    Time to ride

Earplugs work for me. They shut out the band so I can get to sleep, the snorers, so I can stay asleep, and the Harleys in the morning so I get a gentler start to the day
The views expressed above may not match yours - But that's the reason my Dad went to war - wasn't it?
Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, .... but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out,... shouting "man, what a ride"!!!
