    Riverhead?

So is Riverhead open for riding most weekends? I haven't been before and would really like to try it out. I dont even know where the entrance to the bike part is.

    Cheers,

Riverhead is only available for organised rides. There is an enduro on there this Saturday.

Twice the displacement, twice the cost and a decibel problem, I'll pass on the inside brraaaap!!!

Can anyone come along to the enduro this weekend? We dont plan on racing, or at least not competitively. Do they have warmups and stuff to get used to the track? how much does it cost? And where is the entrance / what time is sign on?

    Thanks for the info!

Anyone can ride the Riverhead round of the Top Trail Rider series but you need to have a current MNZ licence. However if you dont a licence you can buy a "one day licence" on the day which entails joining a club if you dont already belong to one.. ie join the Waitemata Club for $30, then the one day licence for $25, then the event entry fee, $55.
The course is easy, at approx 120 ks with 3 special tests of which 2 tests are the same at the poplars/pines near the start/finish plus one out on the course. The 4 sections are very loosely timed so hardly anyone will loose trail time.
At least 1/3 of the riders will be first timers so a special riders briefing will be made for them after the main briefing.
There isnt a lot to see at an enduro...its like being a spectator at a trail ride..its a whole lot better to be riding. Anyone not sure about what to do just needs to get out there by 9 am with their bike, (MX or Enduro or Trail bike) riding gear plus a can of fuel for 120 ks of riding. The organisers will take care of the rest. It also pays to have a camebak type backpack with some kinda drink. Its also a ride against the clock so no massed starts, just simply 3 riders leaving each minute.
