Yep....I've got it so far....you're worried about being 'busted' at work.
Yep, got that.....the work factor has nothing at all to do with this thread.
I've just gotta know this.....how do you get 'busted' if your work place allows you to visit KB? Surely you'll simply tell them (if asked of course) that "Hey, it's a biker site, there are all sorts of colourful people there!"
So my point is this.....if you're allowed to spend work time on non work related sites it shouldn't be an issue. It's hardly a porn site. If they look into the history of your computer they'll see that.
If you're not allowed to do so, you're being naughty anyway, but it's still not a porn site.
But that's right....you stated it's not about work......even though to me, it kinda looked like it was. Sorry.
It looked to me like you're simply offended by some peoples choice of pictures, and that's fine. But if that's the case, just say so.
I kinda thought my comments were relevant in this case.
If you don't like or can't handle someone elses, it's by far best not to post your own.
A lot of employers will have an Internet Use Policy that, translated into English, says something like "You can go on the Interent at work whenever/however you want so long as : it doesn't interfere with getting your work done; and you don't go to sites that have naughty stuff on them".But they also have IT staff who check proxy logs and such to check on what people are doing.
So the point being made is that the issue of whether someone should be surfing the web at work in the first place is irrelevant. But if a site downloads naughty stuff it can cause problems.
Actually, usually the biggest problem is not the boss per se, it's some holier than thou fellow worker who complains because she (usually a she) glimpsed something she doesn't approve of. Then, a complaint having being made (it classes as sexual harrasment - go figure), the boss HAS to investigate. IT check the PC find the pictures of boobies in the cache, case proven, worker sacked. The fact that the boobies came from a site that was not totally about boobies is usually irrelevant.

As Ixion said - many companies policies say you can surf any site you like as long as no-one else is offended if they see it.
One minor glitch I've noticed in the set-up of the system.
For family reasons, I've got image censoring turned on for surfing the site. When I go to my profile page, it shows my profile pic and avatar as "censored", despite them not being ticked for censoring (jeez, I'm not that ugly).
If I disable image censoring, lo and behold, I can now see my own profile page. Weird?

My understanding is that when a member sets up their profile they can tick a box if they have an explicit avatar or pics. You can you can tick a box to not show explicit avatars or any pics at all I think. So what it means is that as long as the member with the image has indicated it's explicit anyone can still see them unless they've set up their profile not to....make sense?
I've sent a few polite PM's over the years but, to be honest because it's more than just pics that can be explicit by my employers standards I don't view KBer at work any more.
Sounds like SpankMe may have sorted it anyway but there's an option under 'User CP', 'Edit Options'.
"Image censoring
Do you wish to censor avatars & attachment thumbnails containing nudity?
When members upload avatars & images, they are asked to specify if it contains nudity. These avatars are not displayed with this option turned on."

Does eveyone realise it is possible to send a PM without going into someones Profile?
You simply click their username in a post and click send a PM to ......

Virago, it sounds as though your cache may be the cause of that issue. The way to find out if it is, is to "flush" the cache and reload the page fresh. To do this, go to your profile page, hold ctrl and hit F5. This makes the browser download all the images again, rather than loading them from the cache. If this doesn't work I'm out of suggestions, other than to erase your profile picture, and reload it again. Hope this helps anyway.
Soapbox house of cards and glass, so don't go tossing your stones around.
You musta been.... high. You musta been...
Thanks for that. I've just tried the forced refresh, no joy.
If I go to Edit Profile Pic, it says that "Picture is Censored", despite there being no tick in the box.
Going to Edit Avatar, it says that it is not censored. Yet I can see neither unless I disable censoring.
I might just manually reload both items and see what happens.

Okay, I deleted and reloaded all images - problem has gone. Thanks DE.
