    Unhappy Image censoring - Profiles

Hey Spank. Couple of questions about image censoring...

Could you possibly set it up so that members' profile pictures can be censored as having explicit content as well? Couple of times I've gone to have a look at someone's member profile at work (yours included, lovely photoshop that it is, though it's definitely much tamer than the certain members profile I just clicked on...), and their profile picture has filled the screen in all it's glory and made me shit myself thinking I'm going to get busted for viewing explicit content at work!

The other question was about avatars. As you know these can be censored, but if you receive a PM or a quote notification via PM from them, the avatar is not censored for some reason.

    Cheers in advance.

And while you're at it Spank, could you please stop people using names such as 'Deviant'?
It's just that when I come here during work hours (yes I know I should be working) my boss may well be looking over my shoulder and think I'm visiting some gay dating site.
I know I really shouldn't be 'peeping' here during work hours, but I just can't help myself!
If I could manage to abstain until I got home it'd be no problem, and I wouldn't have to waste your precious time.....but you see, I'm one of those sorry twats that feels the need to moan about something only I can fix!

    I know you understand....

Whatever you or anyone else thinks about people visiting Kiwi Biker while at work is irrelevant, and has nothing to do with this thread. Whether you think it's a good idea or not (think you've made that point sufficiently clear), the fact is, people do visit KB while at work. It's up to them if they want to do it, and it's their job on the line anyway, but that's not the issue here, so try to stay on topic and try not to make personal attacks please.

The issue is choice. Whether you're at work, or would just rather not view nudie pictures (some females here included), you can choose to censor those images - only it currently doesn't have the option to censor a picture on someone's profile, nor does it censor an explicit avatar if that person sends you a PM, even if you've turned "censor explicit content" on. That's why I made this thread, which you've really not added anything useful to.

Where?? I want to see nudie images.

Hey R, no offense intended matey, I only say this from someone who has met and knows you veiwpoint. But you are turning into a bit of a whinging Pom with all the censoring and changing and such. Kiwibiker is a free site and although I see the benefits in what you are suggesting, just I know, it may not sit well with others.

I on the other hand am biased, I am neither against nor for the prposed movement. LONG LIVE THE CZAR!!

Trouble is some of us are allowed to surf at work but it is a dismissable offence to be viewing 'pornographic' material. 'Pornographic' being defined in the 'House Rules'.

At home I couldn't care less.
    At work it's an issue.

Besides; what's the point in having 'image censoring' if it's not all images?

    Yup... I agree Skunk.
    Good observation Deviant.

The other day I was about to send Spank a pm when my boss came up behind me she said... thats an "interesting" image on your monitor... Im so used to it, I forgot Spanks profile pic may be considered "questionable" at work

Pretty much exactly what I mean Skunk, and easier to understand too. Well put.

Know exactly what you mean Joni - it's been the same profile pic for a while so you just don't think about it, until someone else wonders what you're looking at! Whoops! Happily I managed to avoid getting busted, but the IT department could still see it if they looked. I just hope they are doing their usual thing and not doing any work! Not that I can relate...

Sniper: When I get back to NZ I'll no doubt have a job at which I won't be able to go on KB. At such time I will happily turn image censoring back off and revell in the scenery... But I also think people should have the right to choose, or protect themselves at work if they're allowed to visit KB as I am. Cushy!

It does not affect me personally, though I would prefer not to have something explicit thrown up in front of Big Boss. But I can understand that it might be more risky for others.

I wonder if Mr Spank could add a "Censor Images" tick box to the login area. That would facilitate switching between work and home.

That's funny, I had exactly the same problem the other day - clicked on Spankme's profile pic and suddenly there's boobs & bits all over the screen. Don't get me wrong - I actually like Spank's avatar (the woman in it looks like she's having fun). But some work places are more sensitive than others and even if you're surfing in your lunch break, images like that get stored on your computer so once they're loaded the record is there for anyone to see.

Also some homes with children may prefer not to have images like that pop up unexpectedly on the screen.

So thanks for giving us the option of editing the avatars out, Spankme. It means I can visit the site in a much wider range of circumstances. And it would be really great if we had the same option with profile pics.

Yes, that's another reason why I make sure that noone can come up behind me.

BTW , does ticking the "censor" option actually prevent download of the image? Or just prevent display? If the latter a snoopy IT person could still find "objectionable material" in the browser cache.

Got a list of censored profile pics....?
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them
