I agree they're usually too lazy to turn their heads and check the blindspot!!
It only takes a second but most drivers don't bother!
We should get a large truck and paint a motorbike on the front of it then paint the rest of it neutral camoflage colours and see if any body pulls out or u-turns in front of it ,I bet after collecting it they wont again!!!

I also believe it should be illegal not to indicate (all actions) and more emphasis should be placed on enforcement of this. (eg pull out from parking space)
christ sake......why don't we just get really politacally anal and ban cars!!! no wait....fuck it....lets ban fucking bikes!!!

dont blame the u turn. blame the c*#ts not using their neck. An 88 yr old did me in with a u turn, and said it was my fault...until the court told him otherwise, and disqualified him for 6mths (later quashed when said ancient wrinkly wanker pointed out he had no prior record of being a shit driver).

End of the day its up to us to keep an eye out for arseholes trying to kill us...looking for people posturing to do a manoever, people with wheels turned poised to attack, bla bla, thats why we're better road users....hopefully.

Just got home from visiting my mate in Auckland hospital. Once again a motorcyclist taken out by an idiot, impatient car driver. His right leg is smashed in three places.
Last weekend he was clocking 260 k's plus up the front straight of Paeroa. Now he is going to be recovering from this for up to 18 mths after doing 60 k's on the road. Akld club champs are due to start and he was also heading down the line in a few weeks to do the hillclimb. Looks like the race bike will be gathering dust in the shed for a while. Fkn typical when we had just got it set up and running really well.
RIP Phil (Pinky) SHINE ON YOU CRAZY DIAMOND.

We went and saw him yesterday, and he's not a happy chappy understandably. It's going to be a long road to recovery. I'm gutted for him.

You should know better. It happened to you and you could not avoid the accident. I had no way to avoid mine either.

In one breath you blame the "old c**t and in the next you blame the rider (yourself).

The blame must lie in the manouver. There is no way out of some situations and thats why its banned in some countries (like cellphone useage).

Any news on the court case for the driver of the car? has he pleaded guilty?

I know another case that the driver was completely at fault that pleaded innocent.. unbelievable!

Not sure what's happening to the driver yet.

Lance is on the road to recovery after a number of unpleasant surgical procedures and even nastier injuries. Still a funny cunt though, even when he's off his face on pain relief.

I guess all the anally retentive race stewards around the country will be breathing easy for a few months or more.

Heal up quick buddy, I need a team mate!

Having lived on Hillsborough road, I know that people seem to drive insanely on it for some reason. I frequently saw bad smashes where Richardson rd spilled out on Hillsborough, that one spot is perhaps the worst.
