    Guys erm - girls....

At the risk of being tarred and feathered by the "You must learn everything in zis book because riding is a science" brigade.....

Please don't forget it is also an art and a very enjoyable one at that. Yeah - I know the basic theory etc etc and thats all good but it's not the whole story. Number one - have fun doing it, don't treat it like an exam, two - RELAX a little and try to get a flow going. Your bike (unless horribly bent or badly adjusted) is probably 10 times more capable than you think, it's not going to grow horns and start ravishing you, it's a friend you can trust NOT to hit on your sister while you are in the powder room.

If you have managed to learn to walk and don't fall over more than once a day you can ride well. Just be confident and let your common sense, your fun sense, smell, sight and every day 'awareness' express themselves. yes there is some science involved, but it's not an exact one....

Yep, what he said. Riding is just like any other activity or sport. You get better by practicing. You can learn what you were supposed to be doing by reading all the books later.

Try out a few different thing each time you ride, be confident, and you'll be sweet. (Probably).

Ride down to Lady Featherston Cafe in Featherson for a coffee, eats and a chat.

Leave at 2.30pmish... for a ride over to Waikanae for Quasi's show. Thinking of going over Haywards and a stop on Paek Hill. Should get to Waikanae about 4.30pmish.

There's a thread about it floating around somewhere and it's in the calender events also. It definately caters to newbe chicks and you'll get to meet a few of us local chicks. Be good to have you along!

Now Mrs Kendog, You look after my mate here. Couldn't wipe the grin off her face yesterday after track day. She even brought the bike into work for the first time yesterday. (didn't bring it today though - shame on you scamp )

Believe me it gets better as you practice more and gain more confidence.... and its a load of fun!!! When I first started I really got most of my support from fellow KBers... awesome people.

Thanks for all the support guys and gals. I'm sure you're all right, the more I get out there the more confidence I will gain.

Sadly I won't be able to make it this Saturday, but I'll keep an eye on KB for other events.

And who knows, I might get to meet some of you on the hill as it's a great learning ground (once again I'll apologise for slowing you all down)

ooooH would you do that for me.....

Just for the record. Scamp has probably gone faster on one wheel as a pillion than I have ever gone on two wheels. Her partner would have been one of the fastest guys in the fast group at Manfield. She is no beginner when it comes to speed on two wheels, Just never been on the controls.

    But give her time
