Hey guys, sorry to revive an old thread but:

I've booked my full license today out at West Harbour and AMPS loaned me the VTR250 for the weekend (great learner bike, would definitely buy one for the girlfriend if she ever wanted to learn to ride).

I am pretty confident my riding is sweet as, it's been a while but the time I put in ont he bike over the weekend was great, everything came back to me nicely.

But one thing I want to know is, because I am going from Learners to Full (with the international license conversion), will they fail me if I show up on the loan bike without a yellow L plate/tag?

The other thing which i've seen here is to ask them about the 70km/h speed thing on the motorway, and if they will fail me if I go above that. Personally, I would feel extremely vulnerable on the motorway at that speed, so will voice this.

    Cheers!

Good luck wth the test, i hope to hear how it goes, as I hope to visit Raro sometime this year......!

If I were you I'd take an L plate with you. Attached to bike, after all, you are on a learners at the moment, and thems the rules. They might not be too strict, but they could fail you for not having it.

They will definitely fail you if you rock up without L plates.

You currently hold a Learner licence, and will continue to until you pass your Full. If you fail to adhere to the conditions of your learner licence (Details Here), it counts as an instant fail.

    Thanks Lucy/Breakaway.

Well that's all over, slapped on an L plate when I arrived at the AA, passed the test and then took it off.

So now I'm just waiting for my sprint, but in the meantime, it's going to be sad to hand the VTR back

Do you think AMPS will mind if I borrow it until June
